I have to agree with other reviews, something has changed over the last year or two. I usually order a burrito supreme and a Sancho. Have been for years. Here recently it's just not very good. The meat and the sauce is very different, and the meat is SOOOO greasy. The food is never warm. I live 2 minutes away. It's barely room temperature by the time I arrive home. The burrito has zero sour cream except at the end. Then its nothing but sour cream. Sancho is the same way with the sauce. There is about a pound of cheese on them but only a tiny sprinkle of lettuce. I usually go for dinner in the evenings so maybe during the day it's different. I am probably just being picky, but I have been eating at Chico's since the 90's. It was one of the best places in Salem to go. Since it changed ownership I feel it's just not the same or as good as it once was.

Have ate there several times and the food is always cold
I ate here a year ago and it was amazing. But I ordered through drive through on Oct 30th. W
My husband and I ordered Sanchos, they were so different. The pieces of lettuce was huge not shredded like before and it was ice cold. The Sanchos weren't even warm. The flavor was very different. I always loved going to Chicos when we went to Salem, but will probably not be going back.
It can be expensive and you get less and less portion every time I go.

Food was so fresh and delicious
Stopped by today to pick up lunch for my employees at work .. the people who were working were rude and literally threw the bag of food out the window at me .. when I asked about the drinks I had ordered and paid for the girl sighed at me and rolled her eyes . This is not the first time I have had bad service there but it will be the last cause when my employees say Chicos for lunch that will be a big choose somewhere else !!!
Really really did not like the food. There was something sweet in the meat that should not have been there. The sauce was not great either. The portions were ok sized.
The taco salad is my favorite. Look how full it is! Yum
They don't take tap to pay

Best Mexican food in town! Their tacos and pretzels are just amazing for it being here in the middle of no where Illinois, definetly one of my favorite places in my whole area. The service is genuinely awesome they’ve never gotten my orders wrong and they’re always happy to help! The atmosphere is nice it’s the best they can do with what they have and I respect them for making the most out of it!
Vegetarian options: there is none I don’t think you’d have to ask or look.
Dietary restrictions: it’s not vegan and I don’t know if they do have vegan options or not, if you have any certain allergies than just ask because they will certainly help you.
Parking: just good general parking, quite a few places to park at
Kid-friendliness: Every time I go to Chico’s theres always a family with kids there playing as there are kids toys in the restaurant, as well as gumball and other machines as well as out-door seating for the kids to have fun in the rocks or whatever
Wheelchair accessibility: no stairs or anything; smooth pavement. Should be easy to access but I would just drive thru.

I've eaten at this establishment since the '80s and it's only gotten better...... I moved out of Salem Illinois in the late nineties and I have still at least twice a month thought about these Sancho's in the meat they make and I haven't been there in years but I know it's still it's fantastic in a few years it'll be 30 years since I had it and I think about it a couple of times a month if you guys would be so kind I would love to have the meat recipe so that I can make a sancho so that I can experience the flavor at home since it has been so long and I have no way of ever coming back to Illinois much love from Florida
