This has to be the worst experience that I have ever had at ANY restaurant EVER. Since Regina retired this store has went extremely downhill. Went through the drive through and placed an order. 8pc chicken 2lg mashed potatoes w/gravy and 2lg coleslaw and 6 biscuits. Finally get to the window and we sit there for about 30 minutes. They collect payment and then tell us that there are no biscuits and what would we like to replace it. I said mac and cheese. She comes back to the window and said that the mac and cheese was still in the oven. We then said corn or wedges will be fine whatever they have that is already ready. They hand us the food and I take the bag as my mom is pulling away and it was a good thing that I looked. In the bag was 8pc chicken, corn, wedges and biscuits. I told my mom to pull back around and I went into the store. I finally was able to get someone to help me and I told them that I didn't the 2 mashed potatoes w/gravy or the 2 coleslaw. She hands me a bag with 2 coleslaw and 1 mashed potatoes. I stand there for another 10 minutes waiting for someone to acknowledge that I was there. I told them that they didnt give me the 2 potatoes they just gave me 1. It took a long while to bring me the rest of my order. I will never go back to the KFC in Salem IL. I will go elsewhere to get fried chicken.

Gave this place one more chance and that was a huge mistake. Mind you, it's a snow day and there are no customers in sight.... Called ahead for it to be fresh. They said it would be 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, got the 2 meal order. They forgot both the drinks, and 1 of the macaroni sides. The chicken nuggets were overcooked and tasted horrible. The biscuit was hard and seemed old. The worst part is the store manager was one of the people working... Will not be eating here again.

Easily the largest single decline in a chains history from 2024 to now. This was always hot and fresh and never had issues. The last three trips have been underwhelming to say the least. Tonight was most likely my last this year and it just started. Drinks without ice. No sauces in the bag. 8 fries in my half empty container. The sandwiches where good and the strips where fresh but just a bad experience when you toss in the fact this was ordered on the app and said 5 minutes and I waited ten before leaving the house and still had to wait 10 more minutes there for the items to be what they where as mentioned above. We will try again in 2027 but until then it is worth the drive to Centralia for another year.

I arrived around noon on 12/20/25 and told the female worker I needed to place a large order (3 18 PC meals). She said that there were only two people working and that it would be at least an hour before the chicken would be cooked. Drove to Centralia and waited about 15 minutes. Salem has always been my favorite KFC. I hope this was was an exception and not the rule of how things are running there now.

Waited at counter quite a while. 2 gentlemen waiting when we entered. Finally called out a person in kitchen area! Chicken was soggy like been sitting a while. Entered dining area chairs upside down on tables. No tea containers on self serve. Went back to counter and asked drive through person.. They filled from drive through area. Used bathroom. Dirty ,trash cans overflowing, doors dirty black. All floors slippery like they used kitchen mop to mop customer areas. We were traveling through area. If passing through again definetly wont stop.

I have been sitting in the lobby for over 40 minutes 3 other customers and none of us has a meal? This is so ridiculous 🤯 I worked kfc at 15 y/o this isn't that difficult, someone orders chicken and the packer puts that order in a container! That simple, watched him make the same order 3X before getting it right. Manager runs out says just a second, boom 15 minutes later still no manger. If this place should remain open everyone needs trained on customer service, way to much nonsense in the kitchen area to be serving anyone in the lobby!

I live in Salem and got coupons in the mail from KFC. Came in today and handed them the coupon and the manager said that they weren’t good and this store and only good at Kentucky Fried Chicken stores.??? I said aren’t I in a Kentucky Fried Chicken store? She said no you’re in a KFC. Terrible store would not recommend and I’ve been waiting for 14 minutes on a two pc meal!

Did they bite this piece? They were out of original and wouldn’t tell me how long it takes to fry the chkn. Don’t go here, plenty of other options close by this rude kfc location.
