The food and everything was good. However the Salsa tasted off. The chips were fine in itself. I tried one with the salsa. Idk what it was. Anyways, delicious fish tacos with their blackened grilled mahi mahi, beans w cheese & rice were delicious. Also the lemonade was just perfect. The music was super lively & waitresses/bussers were super nice. Would definitely come back soon.

Rarely visit a restaurant without reading reviews first but we had attempted to eat at a different Mexican restaurant a mile away & were turned off by the blaring thumping music - left because we couldn’t hear ourselves think. So glad we discovered El MERO MERO! House margarita was huge (not all ice) & very refreshing. Chile Rellanos were delicious as were the verde suizo enchiladas. Complimentary salsa and chips - chips tasted homemade. Our new go to for good Mexican food.

Visited for the first time today and had some of the best vegetarian Mexican here. The food was fresh, hot and portions were perfect. Tasted amazing and wasnt loaded with oil and cheese. Orlando who waited on us (hopefully i got the name right) was kind, passionate and very helpful. Overall an amazing experience and will definitely be back!

First, I will say that I am a very patient person. I also rarely leave reviews but this evening the folks at El Mero Mero earned one. We have been going to this place since it first opened years ago. I have always liked it and recommended it to friends. Today we had a terrible experience though. For some reason we got intentionally ignored by the wait staff. We arrived at 6:30pm, July 3. Neither one of the waiters came to take our order for 45 minutes. During that time, a few other customers were seated and served right away. The place was at around 50-60% capacity so I don’t think they were overwhelmed. The table next to us was seated more than 30 minutes after our arrival and received their drinks before our order was taken. If one would make an argument that they were busy, I would question why we were the only table not being served. Also, we could tell the whole time that the waiter and waitress were avoiding eye contact with us. I would like to thank the bartender for stepping up and coming to take our order. There are literally hundreds of restaurants within 5-10 minute drive in Schaumburg. This is not how you stay in business. I am certainly not going there ever again.

El Mero Mero is friendly, welcoming and has a fun atmosphere. The housemade guacamole come in a preferred spice heat. We loved the medium with warm, housemade tortilla chips and side order of flour tortillas for dipping.
The entrees are delicious, accompanied by rice and beans with smokey, tender meats and garnishes for ultimate platters. The salsa is bright, tomato forward and luxurious texture.
Great party room for functions with indoor and outdoor seating available. The bar offers a variety of specialty tequila and whiskeys to impress a connoisseur or entice a novice. The housemade margaritas are real citrus juice, high end liquor mixers, and premium spirits. We love how they make cocktails to your tart or sweet preferences.
