Unfortunately, they no longer carry the vegan breakfast sandwich and the smoothies are not vegan anymore.
I really like the coffee here but the new management is bottom barrel.. they never open on time, always out of coconut milk, and every time I come the price for the same drink is different. They no longer have a rewards program seriously what’s going on here?
Tried something new, good tea

Since being sold from the previous owner, this place has gone down hill. It took 15 min to get an iced latte(which was 99% milk) and you can’t even hear anything from their drive thru speaker. They don’t offer rewards points anymore.

Great oat milk latte
8/7/25 update- I’m not sure what happened but the last few times I’ve been here the lattes haven’t been the same! Egg cheese croissant is still great!
Green Joe has (or...had?)great espresso, and thats all I've ever gotten here. They always have an array of local artists' wares on display, which is very cool of them. I noticed, as have many others, that they slowly ran out of things and closed down over the last few weeks/months, which was, as a customer, very weird to witness. (EDIT: In retrospect, this seems to have been a protracted lead-up to shutting down for a change of owner.)
As for the negatives - this wasn't a coffee place you could go if you liked pastries with your coffee. All they stocked was a small selection of gluten free/vegan options, and the ones I tried were honestly the *worst*, inedible gluten free products I've encountered. The case is understandably still mostly full at the end of every day, and they empty it out a full hour before closing. The atmosphere was cold, I dont remember them ever playing music, and the only appreciable light was cold daylight from the huge windows. All hard surfaces, metal chairs, not a great spot to hang out if comfy cozy Cafe is your preferred vibe. The employees gave a similarly disconnected aura - almost none of them were outwardly friendly, it was almost like ordering coffee from robots most of the time.
Regardless, GJC is/was the only independent coffee shop in a huge radius. Their pricing was great as was the espresso. I certainly hope they can reopen, at least for the sake of all the locals who lived closer than I did. If not, I guess Brewpoint and Conscious Cup are my only remaining options!

Ever since the new owners took over, this place has been horrible. I used to love Green Joe for the atmosphere, friendly staff, and good drinks. Now it’s depressingly empty in there. The staff couldn’t care less about customer service. Also, it took them 5 minutes to pour an iced coffee. I understand that they’re all learning, but geez, 5 minutes? I was the only one there. Definitely going to miss what this place used to be.

Went here today for a 16oz iced coffee with cream and sugar. My total was $6+. The menu said $3.55 or something around there. Not sure how they calculated that but that’s insanely high for a plain ol’ iced coffee. Definitely sticking to Dunkin and Starbucks lol
The baristas on 7/8/25 afternoon seemed very disinterested in doing their jobs. They barely spoke to me and when I asked what muffins were vegan they told me they didn’t know and I had to ask them to check. Service was very disappointing

Good local coffee place! Vibe is a little empty - music kept cutting in and out and seemingly random decor. But great drink options for prices competitive with big coffee chains.

The sign said it was open, yet when I went to go inside, the door was locked. Make it make sense.

Not sure why the negativity I mean you gotta realize that you are not walking into Starbucks etc to have same experience I mean heck even Starbucks, Dunkin etc have long @$$ wait time…. having said that I moved to Schaumburg like 2 months ago from San Francisco and looking for local spot I am glad to find Green Joe I have been to this place few times already and anytime I am there either by myself or with family I have amazing experience good food, drinks, and staff….I love the spot …. their drinks are amazing I have tried their Turtle Joe, Elvis Latte, Matcha drinks and Energy drinks they all are great…keep up the good work

Been coming here for years but since new management took over, it’s way worse now. Slow service, long waits, coffees never made correctly. Waited 25 mins for a simple cold brew again. You can find a better coffee place than this one, especially since new management screwed things over.

Thank you for the coffee grounds🙏
Nice little hidden gem!
I never knew of this place until I accidently drove by.
Nice little establishment with super friendly girls.
They do have some interesting choices of drink there but as cautions person I am, I went with lavender matcha latte.
My only complaint is that I wish they provide bigger cup size, like venti from Starbuck.
Latte was sooooooo good! I will definitely back for more.
Must try!!
