I have been going here for years and the last visit left me really disappointed. I went on Wednesday 10/9 as a party of two. I had left my wallet at home and knew that Schaumburg has two ID rule for alcoholic sales. I offered my FOID card, issued by ISP and accepted as a legal form of age verifying identification, and a photo of my driver's license. Our server went to ask management and I was denied service of alcohol. A little disappointing, but I understand that establishments have the right to refuse service. Although I am certainly over the age of 21, and reading Schaumburg's municipal code, the ordinance only applies to serving suspected minors. Anyway, I understood their sentiment. However, following that encounter, I asked the server what was rejected, the FOID card or the photo of the ID, and she said both. That made little sense to me but I didn't want to cause a ruckus so I accepted. I could have easily grabbed my vehicle registration or an insurance card as my "second" form of ID, but nothing was offered, I was simply rejected.
My partner was served her drink, and the server never asked me if I wanted anything else to drink which was also a bit disappointing and strange.
My biggest issue began after that. The manager, who I was only able to identify as I saw the server approach her with the initial question, began glaring at our table and staring at us. This seemed to spread from server to server, and every time a server approached the pass where the manager was standing, they would all join in seemingly staring us down. This was very strange and made us increasingly uncomfortable. We ordered an appetizer but we shouldn't have as we were being stared at the entire time. We ate it quickly and promptly asked for a check so we could leave.
The entire encounter was strange and incredibly off-putting. I really don't feel comfortable returning here again, which is unfortunate. It would have been nice if the manager had actually approached us and explained her reasoning for denying the service, and then NOT have stared us down the entire rest of our visit. I hope the real management can 1. teach management to approach tables when something like this happens instead of hiding at the bar or at the pass making the server explain it, and 2. teach management to not stare down patrons. Like I said, we will probably not be returning because of this.

If you’re a fan of fantastic burgers ? and hard rock music ?, Kuma’s in Schaumburg is the place to be! The atmosphere is super cool with heavy metal tunes blasting while you enjoy some of the best, most creative burgers out there ??. I tried the “Led Zeppelin” burger, and it was absolutely insane – juicy, flavorful, and piled high with delicious toppings ??. The staff is chill and the vibe is unbeatable. Perfect spot for rock lovers and foodies alike! Can’t wait to go back ??.

This restaurant is becoming so watered down. The music is barely audible and they were playing a stupid movie Harry & the Henderson’s or something. What happened to the metal??? My friend’s burger was over cooked too.

Burgers were good. Cheese curds are almost $1 each, we got 14 of them for $13. Our waitress was meh, the other staff seemed friendly though. Will give it another shot
