Great place for the kids to be entertained. Prices are high but the show is great. Food was over and under cooked
If you have a bad time here...you're doing it wrong. Always a great time. Just wish they would have a dedicated drink server per zone. One drink for the whole show kinda sucks
Still fun as always and food is delicious!!
Took my husband and daughter for their birthday. It was awesome
We really enjoy our experience every time we go. Medieval Times is an absolute blast. Good food and good theater.
Very memorable
Fun times and decent food.
I have dreamed of going for as long as I can remember. I love this time period and was so excited to go. This not only checked one bucket list item, but checked 2, as I was able to see a Friesian in real life, my favorite breed, for the first time! I was overcome to tears several times by the beauty, pageantry and joy I witnessed! Everyone should see this at least once in their lives!
Always enjoy going there, this time watching it through 4 year old grand child was the best!
We, as the Chicago Black Ccar Service team, planned to go to Medieval times in Schaumburg as none of us ever attended the event in the past and wanted to explore something new.
It was a great experience, and the food service, Act / Performance, everything was excellent. Everyone enjoyed, and I would suggest experiencing the event once.

3rd time I’ve been. First time was in 5th grade , other two were chaperoning my middle school children’s classes. It was a great time all three times. They mix up the storyline so it changes. Food is good and there is a lot of it. Servers are friendly and prompt. Now just if my knight would stay alive…
Love the dinner and the show. But the hike up $$$ but a must go and do
A Truly Unforgettable Birthday Celebration at Medieval Times Schaumburg!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5 stars)
I recently hosted a birthday celebration at Medieval Times Schaumburg, and it was nothing short of magical! From the moment we walked in, we were transported to another world—a medieval kingdom filled with knights, royalty, and excitement. This was the perfect venue for a group birthday celebration, and here’s why:
Immersive Experience
The atmosphere at Medieval Times is truly immersive. The castle entrance, the banners, the sounds of trumpets—it all makes you feel like you’re stepping into a living, breathing medieval story. We were greeted by the knights and staff as we entered, setting the stage for an epic evening. Even the décor and costumes added to the authenticity, making it easy to forget you were in suburban Schaumburg and not in a faraway kingdom.
Amazing Group Dining
The four-course feast was one of the highlights of the night! It’s served without silverware (a fun, authentic touch) and features hearty, delicious dishes like roast chicken, BBQ ribs, potato wedges, and corn on the cob. The food was fantastic and more than enough to satisfy even the biggest appetites. Everyone at our table had a great time sharing the experience, laughing, and enjoying the meal together.
It was especially fun to dig into our meal while watching the action unfold right in front of us. Everyone was so engaged, cheering on our knight (we were on the Red team!) and getting caught up in the excitement of the jousting and sword fighting. The food was served promptly, and there was plenty of time to savor it while soaking in the show.
Thrilling Show and Spectacular Entertainment
The show itself is a thrilling combination of jousting, sword fights, and medieval drama. Our group was on the edge of our seats the entire time—cheering, gasping, and even groaning at the tense moments. It’s a high-energy, action-packed performance that’s perfect for a group to enjoy together, especially if you’re looking to get involved. The knights really put on a show, and you could feel the competition in the air.
What made it even better was that the birthday guest of honor was recognized during the show, and they even received a birthday shout-out from the queen and the knights! It was such a fun touch that made the birthday celebration feel extra special. They also received a crown, which was a great keepsake and photo op.
Exceptional Service
The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a memorable experience. They were friendly, attentive, and really made us feel like we were part of the medieval court. They even brought out a special birthday dessert (apple pie) to the guest of honor, complete with a small celebration. Everyone sang “Happy Birthday,” which made the moment feel even more magical. The entire staff was incredibly professional and made the night run smoothly, which was especially important for a large group.
Perfect for All Ages
One of the best things about Medieval Times is how it caters to all ages. We had kids, teens, and adults in our group, and everyone had a fantastic time. The show is exciting and easy to follow, with enough action and drama to keep even the most easily distracted entertained. Whether you’re young or old, the experience is one that brings people together.
Memories to Last a Lifetime
After the show, we had the opportunity to take photos with the knights and the princess, which was a great!
Overall Verdict
If you’re looking for a birthday experience that’s full of excitement, fun, and unforgettable memories, Medieval Times Schaumburg is the place to go! The combination of immersive entertainment, delicious food, and exceptional service made this one of the best birthday celebrations I

I haven’t been here in over a decade and had such a wonderful time! Both my kids enjoyed watching the horses run around and hearing the crowd cheer. The food was great and our waitress was very attentive. The only thing I was sad about is the tomato soup was no more now they call it dragons blood. I wasn’t fond of it. I found it be pretty bland. Other than that, everything else was the same. Parking was easy, finding our seats easy and the rest of the staff were very kind.
