Oberweis Ice Cream and Dairy Store

The Ice cream I delicious here but the prices are a little high. Not a place I go to regularly. Every time I seem to come there’s a long line but worth standing in it. I haven’t been able to sit inside but the plaza has a gorgeous fountain very close and you can walk around and have a great time.

We had Hot Chocolate Fudge and Swet Lime with Blackberry Jam Icecream and Chocolate Milk for Takeaway. Amazing place to Chill with Friends and it's very much a Kid Friendly Place. Loved the Hospitality of the Staff.. Surely going again!

When I visited this location a yesterday, I spent nearly 10 minutes in line (store was virtually empty… one woman in front of me and an older man in front of her, both taking quite a while) and waited for my order for even longer while a couple of employees walked around, and Manager (who I will talk more …) just standing there. I ordered TWO SCOOPS of their strawberry ice cream. What I received was a very small portion, not worth $8. I say “excuse me” to the Mangager who is still just standing there, and she walks over. Come to find out her name is Hayley. I ask her what size I received, and she said one scoop. I explain to her that I wanted two, and she rolls her eye at me and says she will need to upcharge me. I paid $8 already!!! She gave me a nasty attitude and I ended up leaving with 1 scoop for $8. Very disappointing from a place with such a pristine reputation.

In the winter of 2020 while visiting family in Schaumburg we had delicious milk from a famous family-owned ice creamery. Recently after another visit I decided to actually buy some ice cream from store.

I've heard Jewel or someone sells the brand to but there's nothing like buying from the actual store. I asked the cashier to help me pick; too many yummy choices! I went with a cup of strawberry and butter pecan; very good! Too bad I can't take it home with me. It will make return trips to IL more enjoyable, to be sure!

Even on super busy evenings this Oberweis is always on point. If there is a line, it moves quickly. The employees are always nice. And your order always comes out in no time at all. Seating can fill up but when it's a nice night outside you can always walk out the door and go sit by the little pond in the middle of the shopping center. There's often live music during the summer as well outside. The frozen take-home section is always stocked too. Why get an ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins when you can come here and get something a lot better?
