We have the reservation at 5:15 pm. Was waiting at the counter until 5:35 to get the table, and didn't get it. Had to leave and find another place for dinner.
What a great deal the lunch special is! Fun to cook your own ramen and veggies. Our server was really helpful as it was our first time there
It's a good concept and the food is good, but eliminating the table side iPads and making you use your phone for ordering is awkward. Dishes are also in short supply at the buffet for sauces which makes things hard to transport. The pricing is high enough without having to have all the add on charges for things too - just a turn-off.
Shout out to our server. He was all over the place and managed to keep his cool with everything. Stand out guy!
The only thing good was our server. Very complicated. I consistent orders. And the booths are all beat up. Way to pricey
Used to love this place but then they took away a bunch of my favorites like the udon noodles and change the quality of the shrimps. It's not worth the money anymore.
Had a wonderful experience at Shabu you as always!! Thanks to my wonderful server Justin it made it all the more special!
Under staffed. Soft serve ice cream is not working. Average appetizers selection. No karaage available on this day.
Edit:
If you get a good waiter/waitress, you're in luck! If it's the first time, get the REGULAR, and if that was good, try the second time with better WAGYU.
For things for improvements, sushi needs to have better selection, some spoons for the sauce was missing, machines broken, etc. Some of the deserts were ok, but the puchi-shu can have improvements, where it was waaaay better when I had in Japan, or was it that it was filled with ice cream at Shabuyo instead of some cream?
First of all, i called before i went here, they said that we could be seated immediately without reservation. BUT!! Once we arrive we had to wait 30 mins.
We try to wait, the waiting room is freezing. What the hell!? They have COLD AC ON in the winter!?
Let's see how the food goes. I hope it's as good as the one in Japan.

This last visit was probably my 8th time since it opened several years ago and the price continues to increase every time while the choices declined proportionately. To spend on average $60 pp for the second highest tier below the premium wagyu beef, they have certainly priced themselves out of the ballpark when there are far better equivalent dining choices around. During this last visit, the server (blonde guy with tatooed arm, you know who you are) demanded a 18% tip at the end before we left, citing that any party larger will have to shell out more. There is no written notice anywhere, not even on the bill, that a 18% gratuity is required. Obviously he is making up his own rules on the fly. Given that the robots are doing the bulk of the work, this entitled server should be thankful that our tip was a bit more than 17%.
This is atrocious customer service that is a complete utter disgrace especially for a corporate parent Skylark that has always maintained high standards for Japanese hospitality elsewhere. I guess that does not apply here. Given the outrageous price for a limited buffet dining experience and entitled server shaking down customers, this place is highly NOT recommended.

Menu changed. Removed pork belly and chuck roll for tougher cuts. Place was really great before the changes
Our first time, yesterday. The place was good. Our waitress was great! Food was good. The only reason why I didn't give it a 5 was because the robot was dirty. If it's carrying food to different people, who ever put it on the robot should wipe it/clean it before placing food on it. Same with the booths. The booths were not so clean. Please wipe them.
A fun and interesting culinary adventure. Never tried it before and would go back on a cold wintery day.

We went in for a birthday party of 10. I assumed that we were going to be sitting together at ONE table. We had to separate our party into 3 with everyone sitting separately. We were not happy about that. All you can eat is limited by the time, we were not told that by our server. We had a cake and were told to inform our server which we did. We got to sing happy birthday but then we were kicked out b.c they had other people with reservations. So we didn't really even enjoy a moment for the birthday celebration. I asked for a container to go and was told they did have some. Then asked again since they forgot and were told they don't have containers, so confused. At the end when paying the bill we were not told that automatic gratuity was added to the party. We had given the server cash and he accepted it without telling us that it was already added. My father took charge into his own hands and asked for it back. With all that being said we will not be going back.
