Great food and well priced. Friendly service and the Chicken Tenders were exactly as described, Excellent!!! Had the Habanero but wished they made them a bit more slathered in sauce. They were actually spicy but would recommend asking for an additional side of sauce. Will for sure return!

Ok we have been coming here for over 10 years. Now it’s supposedly under new management.. owner of “Pilot Pete”… should I say more? Changes after so many years are disappointing. First you pay $1 for each and every extra sauce you request… yes $1 for a small little dipping sauce. There is no more Coke Zero. And the best deep fried desserts, that my kids were looking forward to are gone. I don’t see this going in a good direction.

Ordered a burger medium with no onions. Came well done with onions. Finished my drink, my glass was taken without asking if I wanted another drink. It was as if it was the first time they were serving people.

Okay… here’s the thing. I had a very specific request for my Uber eats order… and thought I was going back and fourth with the correct location of village tavern the entire time. I intended to order from Schaumburg, but instead accidentally ordered from the south Elgin location. The result? A wonderful host named Rowan RUNNING around the store, back and fourth, answering my ridiculous calls, calling me back, talking with the chefs and managers trying to track down my order that didn’t exist in Schaumburg at all. Rowan was incredibly kind and helpful. Truly willing to go out of his way for the customers. I’d love for him to be recognized by management. I will definitely be in soon to thank him in person. Also, this location makes the chicken wraps wayyy better than the Carol stream location ever could. Just saying. And thank god they haven’t changed their fries… please don’t ever change to the fries that Carol stream got.

The best local spot with the friendliest staff. If you get the chicken fingers, request extra crispy. Great Amstel pub burger. The chicken enchilada soup and the French onion soup are the best! You can't go wrong with the fajitas or the steakhouse wrap either.

Excellent service , came there for the chicken strips which we saw at the Schaumburg Fest ,but we both ordered something else ! I believe anything to our order there is delicious ! Our waitress was very attentive coming back frequently to o see if we needed anything. Since it was Sunday and all the Bear fans were there it got quite busy for our waitress , other staff members were on top to get us doggy containers and our check! Kuddos to all the staff that work there to make your visit want you to come back again ! We will definitely be back soon!

Perfect dining experience. Atmosphere is a good feel. I feel home in the warm but busy restaurant. Service was impeccable anytime I’ve gone and it’s the village tavern, so that’s a given on food quality. It’s incredible

This review is based on my past three visits to VTG. Before 2021 I visited there at least once a month and we always had a great time. Sometime in 2021, something changed at the establishment. For some reason they took down their decorations, which would not have been a big deal, but it showed a change at the establishment.
Their prices almost doubled. Chicken fingers now cost almost $20 and nachos cost over $20, even without any meat. The prices would be acceptable if the food was still good, but the fish I got during my last visit was crumbly because it has been keep in oil too long. I was pretty gross.
Even worse than the new atmosphere and prices has been the service. My family has only got here three times over the past three years because each time we have gone they have been understaffed, and that has led to very slow service. It's been years of this now, so it has to be by design by management in order to save a few bucks at the cost to customer's time.
This past time I went, on Wednesday, October 30th, the fire alarm went off during dinner. Nobody from the staff came out to tell the customers if this was an emergency, or something we could ignore. Some people ran to the door while others sat and ate with an alarm going off. After about 5 minutes, or waitress came to us and told us there was nothing to worry about, all while alarm bells were blaring. This of course made our dinner take even longer, and the fire alarm was very annoying to deal with. The fact that no manager came out to apologize to us during the rest of the meal let me know what sort of establishment this has become.
I'm sorry to report that this restaurant is not what it used to be, and is probably not worth visiting anymore. In my experience, the food and service has been better down the road at Pilot Pete's for similar dishes, so I will be going there from now on when I'm in the mood for local bar food.

I'm sorry, but you lost a star because of the change in fries. The fries you used to serve, until about a month ago according to our server, were the very best I've ever had. Now, the fries are good, but they're ordinary. I will no longer go out of my way to eat there.
