LINDA COURTICE

Quiet, peaceful, authentic 1940s supper club owned and run by a family in its second generation. Candle lit. Hand written, classic menu. Not inexpensive, but portions are huge, and vibe is transformational. If we lived nearby, we would eat here each payday as an intimate night out to catch up on one another. Romantic.

We went there for Valentine's Day and could not have had a better experience. We have been wanting to go there for a long time after driving by frequently and we finally pulled the trigger. It definitely has "vintage charm," kind of like an old Wisconsin supper club. The cod was delicious as well as the pork shish-kabob. Our server Maria was very pleasant and attentive and provided lots of history about the place. Make sure to stop in the bar to check out the old photos. The only negative we could think of is that the interior is a little dated but it also provides some of the charm. We will be back with family.

terrible place, slow service. 30 minutes to get the salad, rolls served with no butte. dinned come in a plate with protein only nothing else. two side small plates with tasteless green beans and potato chips which the server/owner called it rustic fries!!!!! very disappointing and over priced for the quality if food and service, save your money, and go to a better place.

Decor takes you back in time, service is unique and the food is fantastic. We had the Greek chicken and lamb chops, both amazingly delicious. Can't wait to go back.

This evening we had dinner and what a huge change compared to a few years ago. The quality of the food was good but the portion's were tiny. No appetizers available and the drinks were very weak. Many of the items on the menu were not available. I realize January is a tough month for many restaurants but when you pull up and the parking lot had not plowed I think this is an indicator there's financial trauma. No people at the bar and just a few tables with customers, I'm afraid this place had had it. I would not recommend going to this place and I will never return. Peter H Nortbrook

Order the fish - superb!! The hosts / owners are genuinely fantastic! We've lived in Skokie for 25 years, and this was our first visit. We will be back.

Their so called "Sarasota potatoes" are actually old, stale and oily potato chips - horrible. The "sweet roasted corn & peas" are frozen microwaved veggies. The "rack of lamb" was actually 4 bones but really delicious! The salmon was also delicious! We will not be going back. Our server although nice was a bit snippy. I asked for the creamy garlic dressing on the side. When it arrived it was a glob of mayonnaise with garlic, nothing creamy about it. I commented that it looked like mayonnaise. She promptly told me "that's what makes it creamy". The salad is just a bowl of lettuce - nothing else...no tomatoes, green peppers or anything. They were nice enough to offer us a baked potato, in lieu of the chips. Unfortunately by the time it arrived we were done and over it. It was our first and last time there. We now have a better understanding of why it's only open 2 days a week. C'est la vie! Don't bother!!

Wow! I've been curious about this place for years, and finally stopped in tonight. I was blown away! The service, the Scampi - there are no words!

I will try to be kind since this is clearly run by the descendants of the original owner and they can't let it go, though they should close up shop and enjoy their retirement. Do not go here. The musty basement smell when we walked through the door should have turned us around. It was the worst restaurant meal I have ever had.

It was the worst meal I have had in my Chicago area stay. We each had the $30 lamb chops medium rare which came well done and really chewy. When we told them they were well done the owner said they didn't have anymore lambchops and offered to give us lamb shank, which was also over cooked and came on an ice cold plate. Then when the check came he charged us $39 for the lamb chops. So he evidently charged us for the lamb shank also. TERRIBLE! I do not recommend this place at all.

If you have kids do not go there I remember when I was a kid with my family me and my brother yeah butter noodles they did not have a kids menu. I don't know if that's changed but if you have a family with kids, I would avoid this restaurant.

This restaurant is almost never open, and when they are open they only take a couple of customers. The meal that was served was just one piece of meat on an empty plate, and the table was set with a bowl of potato chips and a bowl of peas and corn as the side dishes. The appetizer salad took about 45 minutes to come out, and it was just plain lettuce straight out of a bag. It's a mystery how this place is even still in business.Don't waste your time.
