Food and produce were okay, some products were unfinished (sauerkraut was not ready to be sold and yet it was sold) others were nearing expiration (chicken kielbasa was nearing its end of life… not a fan). When I asked which salami was the driest the clerk kept telling me which one was the tastiest (complete misunderstanding and I was speaking the host language). Prices… prices were somewhat elevated compared to other outlets and online markets… I guess that’s understandable. What killed me is the rudeness of the service clerk at the check out. I was speaking Russian (though I’m from Ukraine) and the clerk out of principle kept responding in English as if Russian was offensive to them. I did switch to English, but the fact that I was faced with Ukrainian political “games” in United States was disgusting to me, therefore 1 star for service. I was born in Ukraine speaking Russian as my primary language and I felt like I was being treated like the second class citizen for speaking my native tongue. This is purely nationalistic and unacceptable, especially in the US. Last time I went to this store.

Can't really review the merchandise because nobody ever came out of the back to help us. The woman in front didn't offer to help, or call to the person in back. She seemed completely unconcerned with us walking out. Not what we expected.

SunBerry Orchard Market Store has he best quality of ocean fish - prepared by hot smoke! Or cold smoke. Caviar. Ukrainian farmers have their own farm and the smokehouse. Fresh and delicious foods - eggs, milk, kefir, farmers cheese, sour cream, unsalted butter, cheese spreads - any kind, sausages, smoked sausages, bologna, chicken roll, half a chicken smoked, smoked pork tongue, cheese, cheese, cheese, homemade salads, fried fish, marinated tomatoes, cucumbers, apples, and casseroles, blintzes, any kinds of pierogies, pelmeni, fresh bread from their own bakery, khachapuri with cheese, rolls with poppyseed, European ice cream, cookies, waffles, candies and home made cakes… We love cakes “Mishka”, “Smetannik”, “Napoleon”, in store is a huge choices of European chocolates… Plus some medicine over the counter, like “Valocordin”, “Activated charcoal”, “Festal”, “Calcium”, Vitamins… etc. Also there’s an alcohol beverages section, beer, brandy Armenian cognac, vodka, tequil, medicinal mineral water, bread kvass… I forgot to mention cans and jars of delicious food also, and sunflower oil ? Thanks Administration for working hard,to fill up the shelves everyday with fresh production, for customer oriented products and the best service - friendly and helpful - at the Deli counter - Svetlana, Natasha, and so gorgeous, polite and kind - cashier Oksana ♥️ Thank you! The beef at SunBerry Orchards Market in Skokie is exceptional. Grass-fed, finished, and pasture-raised, it’s a cut above the rest. Their assortment of apples is also wonderful. Delicious bread and apple cider.
Since the new ownership has taken over there have been some changes to the store. Most notably for me, I think the bread is of much higher quality now. The deli selection looks about the same, if not better.There are fewer shelves and less product selection, but I don’t think it’s that drastic. There used to be a wider selection of Russian items, but with sanctions from the war I suspect their harder to obtain. I do miss the dark rye flour. I hope they find a replacement option.
