Wish I can give this place more than 5 stars. hidden gem for sure. Jose has been there over 20 years and had the best food/prices in all of Skokie. Can't stop going there.

Been coming here for 15 years and this man makes some damn good food. Such a hidden gem and if you can get here before the office building closes you need try their STEAK Quesadillas. I love all the food but this is definitely my go to! Thanks Jose's for the laughs and the food, you're the man

Weird location but worth going out of your way to eat at. Owner is insanely nice and helpful. Food prices affordable and portions generous. We stopped on a Friday and had tortilla soup (it's spicy so say something if you want that toned down), chicken burrito and steak torta. All tasty and packed!

This place is bomb! Jose is super nice! He literally feeds our office twice a week! Food is always fresh and we never had an issue. Totally recommend!

Since it was my first time there, I ordered one each of the three kinds of tacos: steak, chicken and al pastor. I was a little skeptical because the photo of the menu posted here says they come with lettuce, sour cream, tomatoes, and cheese. Not a good sign. But when I ordered, Jose asked, "cilantro and onions?' YES! The steak and al pastor were delicious. The chicken was, well, just shredded chicken. Not much flavor. But the steak and pork were so good, I'm giving 5 stars anyway. I'll stick to those two from now on. The tacos were all generously filled with meat, really two tacos' worth at many places, and they held up well during the 5 minutes or so it took to get them to my apartment. I think next time, two would be plenty for lunch for me anyway. One steak and one pork, or maybe two of one or the other. Fair warning: cash only. But I'm Gen-X, so that doesn't bother me.

The location of the restaurant is a little sketch, since it's located in a older building and has no signs of where the restaurant is located. Other then that, the food is AMAZING! Jose is a burrito king! The food is always fresh and cooked as soon as you order. I've tried most of the things on the menu and it doesn't disappoint - my favorite has to be the Mexican food!

Jose's is Fire! He's been around for years and is definitely a hidden gem in Skokie. Everything on the menu is great from top to bottom. Call in first to avoid a long wait because it is a one man show! He will have your food fresh and ready to go once you arrive.
