As we come from our Filipino background, Ovy and his staff have an incredibly impressive knowledge on ethnic foods and were even able to provide us with options that incorporate our heritage, such as lechon, pansit, and Filipino barbeque. We were absolutely floored when we experienced our tasting at their office in Chicago, as they cooked and treated us as if we were part of their own family.
Our wedding was held at the Brix on the Fox in Carpentersville, IL. We had just over 200 guests and we continue to hear nothing but incredibly raving reviews about the food, hospitality of the servers and bartending staff, and the overall welcoming environment they provided for our day. As this was one of the first encounters of Ovy Catering at the Brix, I was incredibly impressed with how seamless their communication was and how smoothly the entire operation was of our wedding day. We were asked several times by their staff if we needed food, drinks, or any other assistance outside of any catering needs. Their attention to detail is unmatched and it made us so comfortable throughout the entire process. My initial concern when hiring a catering company for our wedding is that the tasting would always taste great, but then the quality of food would be sacrificed on the day of the wedding due to the volume of guests. This was not the case at all with Ovy and his team, but rather quite the opposite. The hor d'oeurves, dinner, and sweets tasted even better and looked just as beautiful as well. I will never forget looking out from our sweetheart table and seeing the servers interact with our guests and it's moments like these that truly make your wedding day so special, when a vendor does not feel like "just an employee" but rather an extension of family in the room.

It was clear from the tasting that it was the best, most delicious and made-with-care food we've ever had for a wedding/banquet/event like this. They make amazing dishes and are flexible to work with your budget, dietary restrictions and food preferences (we asked if we could switch out the chicken breasts for chicken thighs instead; they said "not a problem"). They also like to take who the couple are as people, their upbringing, their favorite foods and flavors, and incorporate them into possible menu offerings. It makes their food and services so personal, and also ensures that you both LOVE the food you serve the guests and feel that it represents you in a special way.

I can’t recommend Ovy and his team enough - they executed my wedding absolutely flawlessly and I’ve had no less than 15 people tell me it’s the best food they’ve had at a wedding. Working with them is one of the best decisions I made.
It was really important to me to find caterers that would work with us to design a creative menu, deliver an elevated dining experience, have transparent pricing and be able to cater to allergies (we had a guest with extreme peanut/treenut with cross contamination reactions). We worked with Ati from the initial call and he truly felt like an extension of us. It was immediately clear he understood the assignment when he delivered the drafted menu which we wanted to be inspired by our favorite food from Spain. The tasting experience blew our minds. My mother in law was so so impressed.
Fast forward to the weeks leading up to the wedding and Ati was the most communicative and responsive. He even helped me make some decisions on what signature cocktails we should offer based on his expertise - he was literally happy to consult on anything I needed an opinion on.
The day ran flawlessly. All of the event staff were professional, attentive and fun! Service was quick and everything came out hot. I have no idea how they managed this for 170 people but it was truly magical. We did a taco bar for late night snack that was unreal. They even sliced and created a tres leches cake and coffee bar.

We had a great time trying all the different options and brought our parents along to make a night of it. My husband's family is largely of Mexican heritage, and we were able to select a menu that brought in some of his background with mine (the Mexican chicken thighs were incredible). We even had tamales as our late night bite.
The team that catered our day was wonderful as well. Nereida was on top of everything, and we heard nothing but great things about the staff from our guests. Everyone was having a blast, even the Ovy team!
