I was excited about this place since I love the Highwood location, but it just wasn’t that good. I came for lunch and it was very empty. The lunch special is now $19 and the Pad Thai noodles were dry and crunchy at parts. The lime chicken was still great, tho! But for a $25 lunch, you want to be impressed.. and it fell short.

Their serving portions are so small that you want to order more food, but their price are very high compare to other restaurant. At the end, you are paying 2x more than average restaurant. I usually support local businesses but this restaurant does not deserve it. I will not come back here again.

Server who wears tudong on Sunday 7:25pm is extremely rude. Are you ready to order or not? We said, we're ready then turn her back and said i'll be back. When she came back we mentioned our order and we are checking what is inside one order then she suddenly said i'll be back when you are ready then walk away. This is a really bad experience for people who are hungry and wanting to eat thai food. Why can't you be descent enough to stay a little bit and help suggest what are the ingredients inside and take the orders. If you can't do your job properly, you should not be working their as food crew. You don't have customer service skills and you are killing tbe business bit by bit with your mediocre attitude. Shame! Get a better server who could do the job better!.

So rude and disrespectful and she accused me of not having money on my credit card to use when I tried Apple paying for my order she slapped my hand away from the machine said I obviously can’t afford my food and I need to pay in cash if I’m ordering I said no I walked away she said you don’t want food I said no not from this establishment. So disgusting so rude she profiled me because I’m black and have braids mind you I work at a lawfirm mind you I’m in court attire modest clothing. So rude and disgusting I hope she gets fired. I’ve never been profiled at a restaurant ever. I don’t want to resolve this issue I will never eat here. Prejudice toward minorities when she was a minority as well.

There was a time we family use to love Ruby of Siam but went there after some time hoping the food as good better. We don’t mind paying $17 each for lunch special. The appetizer, soup & the entree all came at once. The food was tasteless, the meat was undercooked, the atmosphere was kind of tensed, with the serious faces, overall it was a terrible experience. I still gave a decent tip to the server, can’t blame her although so could have been little nicer in the beginning but than I guess she realized something is wrong when saw all the food left & we not even asking for a doggy bag. I should have thought twice why the restaurant was empty at lunchtime. I would suggest not to waste your money.

THE place for Thai food in Skokie!
I ordered the tofu pad thai and lime chicken. Highly recommend these two dishes.
The lime chicken is nice and crispy and comes with a good amount of rice (in a fancy silver container). The pad thai is standard and always a solid pick. I just wish they put more peanuts in it!
