I recently visited Ruby of Siam for a meal, opting for their Pad Thai and a Thai Tea. Despite the restaurant not being busy, with the staff managing only a few to-go orders, my experience was less than satisfactory. The Pad Thai presented was notably bland, lacking in the essential tamarind flavor and, contradictorily, overloaded with sugar. Seeking to add some spice to the dish, I requested powdered chili. However, when I politely asked for the complete set of condiments, the response from one of the staff members was unexpectedly rude. Her demeanor changed significantly, and she even whispered in Thai under her breath, despite no one else being in the restaurant. It was perplexing and disappointing to encounter such an attitude as a paying customer. Based on this experience, I am compelled to say that this was the worst Thai food I’ve ever had, and I have no intentions of returning.

A Skokie staple. My family has been going for a long time. I’ve been to Thailand and still find this place to be a great experience.

I recently dined at Ruby of Siam, excited to experience their Thai cuisine, but left disappointed. The sardines salad, which I anticipated to be an authentic Thai style dish, turned out to be ordinary canned sardines, lacking the freshness and flavor I was looking forward to. Additionally, the satay skewers were tough to chew, not meeting the expectations of their normally tender and flavorful reputation. To add to the disappointment, a simple dish for my little nephew, scrambled eggs, was served burnt. This experience was far from what I hoped for from a restaurant that claims to offer authentic Thai cuisine.

Pad Thai was a mystery, unconventional and heavy dose of sugar. All dishes were overwhelmingly sweet with the kitchen loading on sugar. Staff totally disregarded any feedback. Server stood behind me during order process. Weirdest Thai experience ever.

Food choices were good as it provides a set lunch menu. Wish they offer buffet style luncheon. The dessert were too dried and not

We had a good experience here at Ruby of Siam. The dining room booth was nice and cozy. We ordered the pad Thai noodle, and the drunken noodles, and sweet-and-sour chicken. Our entrées arrived quickly. Everything was hot and delicious. Our server was very nice and took good care of us. This place is conveniently located to the DoubleTree By Hilton across the road. Will be back!

Very average. Over cooked Snapper. My date ate hardly anything which tells me hers wasn't very good either. Didn't even want a doggy bag. Also when I used the bathroom it was disgusting. Scum on the tile walls. Filthy toilets. I've always said if the bathroom is dirty and can just image how bad the kitchen is that you can't see.

It was my first time and ordered to go. I ordered the lunch box to be able to try the appetizer, main, and cucumber salad. I had Potstickers and Pad See Iew with chicken. Good flavor food. However, the lunch box portion was small. I will give it another try and possibly dine in. The dine in area seemed clean and spacious.

Great food, always fresh and excellent service. Mimi was especially friendly; made great recommendations. We've had dinner at Ruby's for years and food has always been consistent.

If there was a way to give 0 stars, that's exactly what we would do. The moment I ordered hot water. The server became rude. Ordered 2 different meals. Both were prepared in correctly and honestly the food was awful. Don't waste your money there are so many other places to go

I have been eating here for decades. I have always had great food. Yesterday, not so much. The angel wings were super greasy and stuffed with dark stringy chicken that bordered on not so fresh. I threw them away. The cucumber salad was non -descriptive and slimy, without the dressing! The green curry with eggplant ( there was zero eggplant) and chicken was dissapointing. The sticky rice was a hard lump rolled up in saran wrap. I used the rest room and it was disgusting. There needs to be a deep clean of this restaurant. Dirty, dingy and clutter all over. Not crisp, not clean, not good. And very sad.
