Great beer and space. However no single wine option for those who cannot drink beer due to health conditions (i.e, due to carbonation). Would be great if they had even just one option for such people to also come along for a visit.

Great beer a day pretty large inside and outside patio is too. Large enough for party place. Chill environment with couches and tables . Kid friendly crayons and stuff for kids to do while parents chat.

A community gem in North Chicago breweries. Personable, warm and tucked away in a quiet neighborhood near the Skokie’s. Wide variety of well brewed beers, live music (probably on the weekends only. Check with them). Definitely recommended.

Fantastic beer selection and a fantastic spacious yet still cozy taproom with a patio area. Parking is pretty tight though unless I missed an area, but otherwise was one of my favorite spots I’ve hit up in all of Chicagoland and would gladly go back.

Great place, great live music and super family friendly. All-around awesome, with a great selection of good beers. Prices a bit high, $40+ for 5 drinks, so wouldn't go regularly, but a great occasional treat, especially if you have a family and kids as there's enought there to keep everyone entertained.

I've been to Sketchbook twice in the past 10 days and have found the beer to be lovely and the atmosphere appropriately austere industrial. I was grateful NOT to be surrounded by TV screens or loud music.
The service, however, was mixed. I was served by a number of different people and all of them were consistently pleasant except for the bearded fellow with the nose ring. He was often curt and frequently poured beers with excessively large heads on them, despite a request not to have too much head after my first experience. If you have a choice, try to be served by one of the women for better service.
Note to Sketchbook - patrons tip more when the service is pleasant, and I am no exception.
