I tied to explan to the waiter how I wanted my food and he just kept over talking me and I asked him did he understand my order and he said yes. Well when my food came out it was totally wrong. He had to take my food back twice and it was still messed up. I just ate it paid my bill and left. I was a regular there but I won't be bringing my business back to this restaurant.

Overall experience was terrible. I wish I got the name of the woman who attended but I unfortunately did not. She was very dry, lacked some personality in my opinion. Let's start with the initial order taking, not sure if she's new, but she didn't seem very familiar with the menu when ordering the meat loaf sundae. The look of confusion said it all. I ordered a frozen lemonade for my drink along with a turkey club. She forgot my lemonade because she came to the table and said, "Are you sure you don't want to order something to drink or you did?". I asked for no tomato on my sandwich, there were definitely tomatoes all over that sandwich. I didn't make a big deal, so I just took them out myself. She wasn't very attentive, we had to get the attention of other employees when we needed anything. She seemed very MIA. Fast forward to the end of our visit, we asked a by passing employee for to-go boxes and took everything but the meat loaf with. It wasn't very good. She came back and asked if we needed any boxes even after we had boxes already at our table and the food was put in them already.. She realized most of the meat loaf meal was still there and she asked if we didn't like it, we told her no we did not. She did in fact ask if there was anything else she could get us but we just said no, it's fine, just the check. Again, didn't make a big deal. Well, she proceeds to send the cook to our table and again he offers to make something else, but again we said, it was fine. We just wanted the check. 10 minutes go by and she never showed up with the check so we just got up and headed towards the register to pay. As soon as we were in the middle of paying, she is saying from across the restaurant, "Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, I have the check right here." then proceeds to say very loud to the girl ringing us out, "He didn't like the meat loaf. He didn't eat it. He didn't like the meat loaf", the girl ringing us out says to her, "Ok, what do you want me to do about it?" Our waiter proceeds to walk away. AGAIN, we never asked for a refund or a new dish, we were fine with just paying for the food and leaving so I'm not sure why all that even happened. That was TRULY embarrassing & unnecessary for her to be so loud. She was only waiting on 3 tables and seemed a bit much for her. For as much as we spent, we didn't have the greatest service/experience. Honestly, it seems very unorganized and some employees need to be retrained.

Awful father's day experience. Took over 50 minutes to recieve our mediocre food. We had to be asked after 30 minutes what we ordered and my meal came out wrong. coffee sat empty for over 25 minutes. Nobody showed any concern for how long we waited in a half restaurant. Totally unacceptable.

I went here over the weekend with family and was expecting decent food and crappy service as the location in Deerfield/Lincolnshire shut down due to lack of staff. However, I was pleasantly surprised as the food and service was quite good. I ordered the Sweet Basil Favorite Crepes with bananas, strawberries, and pecans. I decided to removed the pecans (ick!) and ordered the sausage links well done, and hashbrowns (not well done). The crepes were nicely sweetened but not overwhelming and the fruit was fresh. The sausages were perfectly well done and the hash browns were good and not too oily.

Our server was attentive providing refills and clearing plates. There clearly isn't a server issue here. We had a nice private table despite not having a full restaurant.

Another person ordered the same main entree as I did. She thought it came with whipped cream and they immediately brough out two bowls with whipped for us both. Everyone else got omelets and they were huge with a ton of their selected ingredients mixed in. Sweet Basil did not skimp on the add-ons. Some got toast and some got the pancakes as the side carb. The pancakes were as big as the plates themselves and were a "short stack" of two cakes. No one finished their omelets and sides. Everything was cooked to each person's liking.

I never really thought about coming to Skokie for breakfast as we are about 20 minutes away, but I'm definitely going back.

Very disappointing meal. The service had issues and the food was not well prepared. Expensive for the meal which really was lacking in both appearance, quality and quality.

Do not recommend. Everyone who worked there has no idea what was going on. Our waiter disappeared and never came back. It was a big major deal. Food was wrong. No one would bring us the check we had to walk up front and just tell them what we had. It was awful! I won’t even add all of the things I seen the employees do that broke health codes while making the drinks.
