The best Romainan food our of Romania :-) I grew up on Romanian food, and never thought I will find a place that will comapare with my mom's and grandmom's cooking and baking... I was proven wrong :-) Great salads and baked good, very authentic, clean, fresh and tasty!

I'm so glad Transylvania Kitchen exists. Let me tell you why - my husband and I went to Romania for our (long delayed, thanks to COVID) honeymoon, and unexpectedly fell in love with Romanian cuisine and baking. We had a lot of preconceived notions about what Romanian cooking would be like, but none of it came close to how delicious, filling, and healthy it is. I ended up buying three Romanian cooking and baking books as soon as we got home, but there were many foods that did not have recipes in those books (or the recipes were off), so I was delighted when I found Transylvania Kitchen. Everything is clearly made freshly, and they have a selection of sweet and savory baked goods, plus a rotating selection of actual Romanian cuisine. Everything we tasted and brought home was incredible, just like we remembered it, and stayed well in the fridge. I was especially fond of their bean dip with tomato-y, caramelized onions on the top (kept in their fridge), sweet farmers cheese pie, and soft cookie sandwiches with chocolate ganache in the center. But really, everything was excellent and worth the (reasonable, IMO) cost. Additionally, the baker (who was the owner, if I recall) was so sweet and welcoming. She doesn't have perfect English, but we were able to communicate just fine, and when we told her we honeymooned in Romania and fell in love with the country and its people and cuisine, she was so gracious, and even gave us a ton of samples to try. Even if you've never tried Romanian cooking or baking, please give this place a shot. It's a wonderful European bakery, and for once not a French patisserie, and we need more of those in the states.

This review is strictly about the owner of this place. I just came to see what they have available and she started ranting about how people only buy her products around Christmas and now she has nothing available anymore!! She went on to say " nobody cares that I have a business to run year round not only on holidays.I mean,.really, you want people to buy from you just because you cannot sell enough?! With this attitude, you shouldn't be in business.
