Sourdough Traditional Bread & Cookies Purchase I recently picked up some sourdough bread and cookies, and both were absolutely delightful. The sourdough had that perfect balance of a crisp, golden crust and a chewy, tangy interior. You could tell it was naturally leavened and fermented just right — the flavor was deep and complex without being overly sour. It’s the kind of bread that elevates even a simple sandwich or just stands on its own with a bit of butter. The cookies were equally impressive. Freshly baked, with a perfect texture — slightly crisp at the edges and soft in the middle. Whether classic chocolate chip or something more unique, they had just the right amount of sweetness without being overpowering. Clearly made with care and quality ingredients. I’ll definitely be back for more. Highly recommended if you’re after artisanal baked goods that taste homemade (in the best way possible). P.S Big shout out for the customer service and presentation 👌❤️ 💯% recommend Val s Bakery
Love the bread. And the service I receive is great. Not much for atmosphere but who cares.

We’ve just had a Garlic and Red Leicester Loaf - so so tasty absolutely delicious! Can’t wait to try more❤️
We’ve just had the sourdough plain loaf - wow! Makes great toast and a bacon sandwich! Looking forward to trying the cheese bread! Thanks Val!
I was there yesterday and spoke to the manager.
It’s not permanently closed as Apple Maps indicates.
Plus they still have their regular hours.

I like the taste of the sugar-free whole wheat bread. The only reason it's lacking a star is because there's no nutritional information on the label. How many calories? How many carbs?? Being a diabetic, I'm trying to stay below 15 gms of carbs per slice. Those pan-style breads (Pepperidge Farms) have too much added sugar and are 22-27 gms per slice!!
Amazing quality bread!! For very affordable prices

they make bread to sell to stores , but buying from then directly is out of this world, best bread in chicago, and i tried many custom bakeries, the store is simple as its not made to sell to customers directly, that's how you know its good , they don't need fancy

The best bread in the area! Highly recommend to try their poppy seed cake and 7 grain bread!
Bread is very high quality and made with only natural ingredients. Cheaper to buy from then than at Skokie grocery stores. Bring cash. Don’t expect a nice store, but you can expect friendly service!!! My parents buy bread here every time they visit us from Wisconsin. They deserve your service!
