Egg Harbor Cafe Reviews
We love Egg Harbor for the food, the service and the pleasant, bright interior. But please!! Bring back your Jump Start coffee!! 😋 That has always been one of the draws for me and I was so disappointed to hear it was not available any longer due to not having Kerry Gold butter or Coconut Oil. 😲😦
Thursday morning, December 22, several family members met for breakfast at Egg Harbor in Barrington. This week was special because we were celebrating Christmas together while feeling the emptiness of a second Christmas without Marlene (wife, sister, sister-in-law). When my brother-in-law went to settle our bill, he was advised that someone had already paid our tab. Thank you, stranger, for your act of kindness. You lifted my spirit more than you can imagine. Eating at EH since it opened in Barrington. Too bad the food is now inconsistent and wait staff pleasant but constantly screw up orders. Recently had their french toast, was served below room temperature. Ordered orange juice served orange/strawberry. I also recently had Barrington Benedict and the egg yolks were HARD.
Both are sign of poor management and or kitchen issues. These problems do not appear to exist at Southern Belle!!

Egg Harbor Cafe is a popular breakfast and brunch spot, offering a relaxed atmosphere and a variety of flavored coffee. The food is often fantastic, although the service can be inconsistent. Some customers have reported excellent service, while others have experienced issues with their orders, such as cold English muffins, overcooked eggs, and burnt bacon. Despite these occasional disappointments, the cafe's interior is nice, and their espresso drinks are a highlight.
The menu features a good selection of breakfast dishes, including omelets, skillets, hash, and even shakshuka. The servings are generous, and the food is fresh-tasting. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are available, and the cafe is kid-friendly. Parking is plentiful, and the cafe is wheelchair accessible.
Recent reviews praise the cafe's egg dishes, such as the shakshuka and the lobster scrambler, which is described as rich but not too rich. The iced matcha latte is also well-received, although some customers wish it had a stronger matcha flavor. Overall, Egg Harbor Cafe remains a popular choice for those seeking a pleasant dining experience and delicious breakfast fare.
