OMG! Where have you been all my life? Tucked away in a small strip mall in South Beloit, inside a grocery store, is this little gem... Taqueria La Mexicana. WOW! The food is fantastic. Since our discovery, we have eaten here several times. The quality of the food is consistent at a very reasonable price. The service is great, the food is authentic and they offer both eat in as well as carry out. If you're looking for wonderful, authentic Mexican food....look no further. We will definately be back!

My wife and I have dined here twice recently and really liked it. The service is excellent, the cuisine is well prepared and authentic. At our first visit I ordered a Lengua (tongue) Taco among others. The waitress surmized that I had an adventurous appetite so she told me that, although not on the menu due to availability, they sometimes offer Beef Brain and Beef Eye Tacos. She said the next time I came in to ask her about them. So today I tried both. Now that's authentic. The restaurant is located inside a Mexican Grocery Store that includes a meat market. By the way since this was my first try she didn't charge me for them.
