I would highly recommend Orchid House in Sparta. My family needed a couple rooms for a few days and a third for a night. My parents moved to assisted living a couple years ago and now we don’t have a place to stay. Unfortunately we were in town for my father’s funeral. Julia has know my parents for a long time, even my grandfather. Knowing our situation she put up the no vacancy sign and gave us the whole house, to give us some privacy. We had family coming in from all over....
Visited Sparta for the April 2024 eclipse. Found The Orchid House online three years earlier and kept in touch. Made reservations one year prior. Close to the center of town, this is an old house that was scheduled for demo, but Julia and George saved and renovated it. They live next door.A few steps lead to the front porch (use the driveway to the left and sidewalk instead of straight up the extra steps with gate). George and Juliet are awesome. The room was very clean and had everything you needed. The breakfast was outstanding, especially the just baked cinnamon crunch muffins!Nearby activities: Great brewery, The White Rooster , just a 2 block walk.
