Almadina Halal Restaurant

It is a small place meant for take out mostly. There is no sitting area and all the food is served in the to-go containers. The whole place seem so run-down. I dont think they spend any money to decorate, paint, or even clean the area for a place that has been open less than a month. The worst was the windows to the restaurant!! Come on, just take a towel and clean the windows. It doesn't take much to do so.
The food was surprisingly good with large portions. I had chicken rice. Spicy enough and really different. I may go back if they clean the windows to the store at least.

Very dirty, food in the floor, tables not cleared. Were out of things ordered, though they did refund. We changed order to go as the table we were out had streaks of food on it Upon leaving, the young man who took our order was already going across the road, but the same food was still on that table. We were very disappointed. I am sorry, but I cannot recommend after this experience.

They had no beef so all those dishes were unavailable and he didn't know what Baklava was even though it's on their menu.
Food was warm, not hot upon receipt.
Chicken over Rice tasted like onions only.
Chicken Sharwma 🌯 was drowned in the sauce at the bottom.
Overall the food was okay, not amazing but not bad either.

Made my first visit. Menu is priced very fairly considering the way most places are going these days. Food was pretty tasty, but something a bit odd to my taste in there. Service was fine. They were out of falafel which is too bad considering a fairly small menu. I like a small menu, as it means focus on getting a few things perfect, but then you have to actually have it all on hand! Will update after a return trip.

Food is decent, but it's very inconsistent. Also, they can't seem to get a Grub Hub order right. They're 0 for 3 with my orders. Either they don't have what I ordered or they just don't bother sending my part of the order.

The food was wonderful and very flavorful. This is the best hummus I have ever had and the falafel and chicken shawarma were amazing.

The price was perfect for the portions. In total we spent around $50 for three main courses, three sides and 4 drinks and it perfectly fed a table of 4.

This is gonna be a new regular spot for me.

I ordered beef kebab and it was made from a frozen packet. Atmosphere didn't feel safe or comfortable to dine in.

Try Almadina, you will be hooked!

This is a Yemeni restaurant (with a few non-Yemeni options like biryani). The food is PHENOMENAL. I have been here at least 8 to 10 times since they opened and I'm thinking of going again tonight.

I have had the shawarma mix, beef shawarma, chicken shawarma, chicken mandi with rice (the best dish so far), chicken over rice, chicken kabob, and beef over rice. Their French fries are fresh and delicious too, they're regular (not crinkle cut like another review mentioned). I can hardly wait to try the biryani, fish, and falafel next. Their sauces (both red and white) are fantastic.

Their baklava and knafa desserts are very delicious too. I am eagerly awaiting the day when they have the Yemeni sweet bread (bint al-sahn), it's on the menu but not available just yet (I asked a couple of times).

Prices are very reasonable for the big portions.

Plus, the guys who work here are soooo friendly and wonderful (many of them are from Yemen and are just the nicest people). Once there was a lady at the front but I have only seen her once. She was also very nice!

There is a small sitting area to the right when you come in, but we have always gotten takeout which seems to be what most other people do as well (when we have been anyway).

They are the same owners as the Almadina grocery store (it is in the same spot Mini Devon was for 20+ years). I highly recommend the grocery store too.

Recommended dishes: Shawarma Mix with Fries

Tried this place for the first time last night. Chicken over rice was delicious and fresh, portion was generous. The pita and hummus were also very tasty. The menu is pretty diverse, so our family will go back soon to try more options. I do wish the menu was a little more descriptive and concise. I encountered a slight language barrier so I was unable to leave a tip with my the credit card, but the order was correct and the guy (owner? employee?) was nice. Will definitely be back, it’s good to have a quick middle eastern food option in Springfield again.

EDIT: I fear I may not have done this place justice in my first review. It’s really great and I look forward to trying it again. The dish I had was like a fusion of middle-eastern and Indian food. The rice was light and perfect. The food was packed with flavorful spice, but not the burning kind of spice. Everyone should try this place.

I come a lot here, at-least twice a week and I really love the food. But recently, they’ve been decreasing the quantity of the food. The shawarma wrap I ordered, decreased the size substantially when compared to two months back. I want to visit more, but if this keeps going, I’ll have to stop going here

Meat platter and rice. Rice was good, meat very dry. But i appreciate the diversity compared to most local options.
