Great place! Kristen was super awesome! She was very welcoming and gave me a couple of samples and I opted for the Keller Clown (Helles) which was spot on .....so I had a couple more. The boys in the back cooking up the food were very busy but I soon learned why....the food was excellent. (naked wings and fries). Despite being extremely busy, the entire staff was attentive and delivering. Great job and Cheers!

This is the best place in Springfield. The cheese sticks are insanely big and delicious. The drink choices are great too. Always visit here when we are in town. Oh and the salads are so fresh and large!

Food and beer forged in the depths of deliciousness.

A mighty need for food had Emily and I end up at Anvil & Forge, based on the photos she saw online. I trusted her judgment and we headed out from Buzz Bomb Brewing and walked about 5 minutes over to Anvil & Forge. This place is a bit different in that while it seems like it would be a bit of a sit down restaurant upon entering, you actually place your order at the counter and they bring the food out to you. Once Emily and I figured out what we wanted, we took a seat outside. For food, she ordered the BBQ Pulled Pork and I got the Slim Thickens. As for beer, Em got the ‘Violet, Your Turning Violet’ and I got the Hefedoodle.

It was a beautiful day out and sitting outside was the perfect choice. We slowed worked on our beers while we waited for our food. It took about 25 minutes to come out and once it did, WOW. I know I ordered the Slim Thickens but they really leaned in to the THICK side of the name. This sandwich was about 6 inches thick and was going to require me to unhinge my jaw. Emily’s BBQ sandwich was damn near the same. I dipped into my fries to mentally prepare myself for the challenge I was about to embark and that was when I encountered my one and only disappointment with Anvil & Forge. While I had a million fries in front of me, they were room temperature at best. Non-hot french fries are always a disappointment to have, even if they are great tasting.

Turning to my sandwich, I was able to mash it down to a somewhat manageable endeavor and started eating it and that’s when I forgot all about the fries. This sandwich was exquisite. Everything tasted high quality, each ingredient meshed well with the others and the whole thing was incredible. This is, without a doubt, the best sandwich I’ve had all year… maybe in a few years. It really blew me out of the water on how good it was. I sampled Emily’s BBQ and was taken back by how good Blackberry BBQ can taste. Emily was equally in love with her sandwich and took half home to finish another time.

Speaking of good things, I much preferred the ‘Hefedoodle’ to the ”Nanner, Nanner, Nanner’. Emily was enamored with her ‘Violet, Your Turning Violet’ that she went back for a second. I wanted another but since I was driving, I needed to respect that. Gosh, just typing up this blog, seeing the pictures and remembering the taste has me considering another trip to Springfield in the very near future.

If you find yourself in Springfield and want to experience some fine drinking and some even finer dining, Anvil & Forge does not disappoint (except for those french fries).

We tried a little bit of everything — wings, spinach artichoke dip with pita, nachos, and pizza — and everything was delicious. The standout was definitely the Meatza pizza. They don’t skimp on the meat at all — quality ingredients, great flavor, and that crumbled sausage was especially tasty. Solid portions, friendly vibe, and we’d definitely go back. Highly recommend!

Great atmosphere, tasty food, and delicious beers. The fruit beers are fruit forward in a way that positively tickles the palette!

Ate here with a group from work. All the food that was ordered was delicious. The portions are quite large. We enjoyed all types of alcoholic drinks that were unique and tasty. The atmosphere was comfortable and there were several large tables to accomodate groups which was nice and easy. I would definitely recommend dining here when in Springfield.

From the entry until the exit we were in love with it all!

The place looks phenomenal with a mix of urban decor and lovely pieces of art throughout. The giant tables promote community dining which I’ve grown to love.

We ordered the pizza with half sausage and pepperoni. The sauce was a healthy mix of sweet and spicy and the cornmeal crust was light and crunchy. Love!

The artichoke dip with fresh jalapeño and garlicky bread for dipping was topped with fresh Parmesan. So good!

We also ordered the special of the day which was Asian Pork Belly tacos! Loved the savory sweetness with all that crunch from the crisp on the belly and freshness of the veggies. Yum!

Overall the place was very inviting, the food was delicious and the staff were very friendly! 10/10 all day!

Blueberry wings are a must.

Wow. The beer selection is wide and their Uncle Dunkel is delicious. And the food? WowX2. The portions are HUGE. The Margherita flatbread can easily feed 2 and possibly 3. Definitely recommend this place

Food and drinks are great, service not so much, they wouldn’t take our order until we found a table and made us stand in line twice… cashier’s attitude about it was not very nice.

Disappointed with the service!! We ordered two things from the appetizer menus a kid's hamburger and a Caesar salad with chicken. After 50 minutes our number was 31 and we saw multiple parties much larger than my wife and I and our two kids getting served who showed up after us with numbers 35 and 36. They finally brought the wings and hamburger out but my daughter's salad and my one slice of pizza were delayed an additional 10 minutes “ I inquired twice about it” with them saying it was coming.

The food was great but the service will make us never return and I will not recommend this place to anyone with kids.

Need to cut the salt in half. Fries too salty, burger too salty, even the pizza dough too salty. a big help to their bottom line would be to cut the portion size by 1/3. if it wasn't for the saltiness of the food, they'd get 5 stars.

Incredible food - Foundry Salad was excellent, great onion rings!
