Moving reviews over from Yelp. Originally published 5/8/2010:

Glad to have this place in the neighborhood. They make a great Kobe burger and their stuffed meatloaf is sufficiently unique to make it something you would go back just to have again. Heading there for dinner again right now...

What a horrible experience. It started off with having to wait 15 minutes at our table and then having to ask to be waited on. Drinks came and our orders were taken. All of the food did not come out at once, there were five of us. Two items came out then we waited another 5 minutes for two of the three pizzas to come out. One was wrong and got sent back immediately. Five minutes later the 3rd pizza came out. The pizza that was wrong, mine, came back out again and was still wrong. They took the incorrect pizza that had an incorrect item on it and just added the item to the top of the incorrect pizza and brought it back to me. The waitress never came back to the table to ask if everything was okay and so I asked for the manager. I told her what had occurred and she proceeded to ask me if I wanted it refired or something else from the menu. I said no, all I wanted to do was have the check comped, leave and said I would never return. As soon as the check was comped, I got up and left. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone ever. A very dissatisfied customer. Just terrible.

Great food and service, best burger I have had in a long time. Sports bar atmosphere, with high ceilings that help to mitigate the sound level in the dining area.

We had our son's college graduation party in their private room. The taco bar was delicious and plentiful. The service was fantastic. Vanessa took great care of us and didn't miss a beat. I highly recommend them for your next party.

I ate the Chipotle chicken sandwich. I asked for grilled but then asked for crispy. Waitress forgot!!! We were a large group of 7 and were seated at the window which was very cold and uncomfortable. Food was okay. Tasted like typical bar food. Atmosphere since it's a sports bar was a bit loud but I guess that's to be expected. I couldn't hear half of my coworkers talk at the other end of the table. I ordered a coke but they only serve Pepsi so I had water.

At Brickhouse Grill & Pub, one finds a sanctuary of well-crafted plates and the quiet hum of human yearning. The food arrives with a richness that suggests, however briefly, that pleasure is still possible in this life, that flavor might yet defy the creeping numbness that modern existence so diligently cultivates. Each bite whispers a fragile promise: here, at least, something has been done with care.

Yet time itself moves differently inside these walls. The staff, kind-eyed and unhurried, navigate the dining room as though caught in a gentle current, drifting not from apathy but from a deeper knowledge, that haste solves nothing, that urgency is an illusion, that in the end we all wait for something that never fully arrives. Service is not absent; it simply unfolds at the pace of slow erosion, like a river carving stone, or hope wearing thin.

This place is good, undeniably so. But in its pauses, in the long moments between need and fulfillment, one is left to contemplate the absurdity of appetite, the futility of impatience, and the strange comfort of knowing that even pleasure must be earned by waiting.
