Great food, affordable prices but the manager, Dave, yelling at employees during lunch service from across the restaurant made for a very uncomfortable atmosphere. It would seem the staff is used to this sort of treatment, as they anticipated his berating and continued on with their work.

I never have good experiences with the owner/manager. He is pushy and rude and argues with me when I want my sandwich on wheat bread instead of a croissant. After clarifying multiple times that I want wheat bread, my sandwich today was still served to me on a croissant. I will not be back.

Small local business with friendly staff. Have yet to have a bad meal here. Eat here usually once a week while working on the office.

The Feed Store gets a lot of hate because it's not "the same." I can't attest to its past, I can only rate its present. I love their chicken salad sandwich. And their soups are delicious. They hire developmentally delayed people which I love, they do a great job and are friendly and work hard. Yes, it is outdated but that is part of its charm. Usually not busy at all at lunch. Reasonably priced.

Soup was not very good. Recipe changed I guess. Really not a good place to park. Felt

This used to be the best run, best tasting, best lunchtime hangout in downtown Springfield. Unfortunately, COVID led to a change in ownership which led to a change in quality. There never was much in terms of service at the old Feed Store, but it is truly bare-bones now. The building is beautiful and unique but they are serving food on paper plates and in styrofoam bowls no presentation whatsoever. It's sad to see ownership cutting corners, I assume to try to save money, at the expense of quality, tarnishing a once beloved restaurant.

Good food! Good soup, especially! Well worth the visit! 85 characters requirement is BS, Yelp!

The sandwiches we had (the Unholy Cow and corned beef on rye) were excellent and the customer service was really great. Really friendly people. Admittedly, the look of it doesn't really match the atmosphere. The interior is designed almost in a Victorian style, with vintage looking trim, wallpaper, and ceiling design. It's a bit loud though--buzzing the whole time and we were here in at a comparatively slow time (for them). So maybe not a super chill place but they do have carryout. Loved the Wisconsin cheese soup which was at least as good as any I've had traveling through Wisconsin.

I finally made it back to The Feed Store this week. Oh, my!!! I was NOT disappointed. The chicken salad was amazing and the Wisconsin cheese soup was devine. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere inviting. I read my book while enjoying my lunch. Perfection!

I enjoyed it. I haven't tried this place prior to the ownership change, so I can't attest to how it tastes before. The people were nice and my sandwich, while not super fancy, was enjoyable and reasonably priced. Wish there was cake though, which the yelp menu said they had.

Manager yells at his employees in front of everyone in the store, a lot of customers were appalled by his behavior so much so that one man called him out to treat her better. He is also very condescending to the customers, he should not be working in customer service or be in charge of ANYONE.
