Authentic Italian American Pizza Joint. We got the Joes Special Pizza. It was loaded with toppings and cheese. Pepperoni was specifically good. Took half home, great cold or microwaved. The chicken wings were crispy and had great flavor. Nonna made the salad and the Italian dressing was excellent. Great family vibe, delicious food, friendly service.

This is a self serve place so service depends on you :) Pizza is good, side salad was ok but I wouldn’t expect great salad from pizza place any way. Chocolate chip cookies I would pass - they felt too dry and crumbly to my taste.Kid-friendliness: There are booths and owners and public tolerant to kids being loud.

A piece of Italy perfectly spotted in the heart of the state capital!! Sandwiches, amazing. Pizza, awesome. Looking for homemade pasta? Spaghetti and meatballs? Yes they have it all! Huge menu, beautiful restaurant! Very colorful. Grab a slice with a beer, do some gambling on the machines, have a kids birthday, they literally check all the boxes!! The owner is exceptionally nice and you can tell the love they put into the place for decades!!Parking: You have to park on the street but it's worth it!Kid-friendliness: Plenty of room and seats for kids!

We love this family run Italian restaurant in Springfield! It’s humorous reading some of the other reviews because some of the family members do NOT have the best people skills… smiles are sometimes hard to come by and communication isn’t always easy, but we found this to be the same in Italy.Their food is pretty authentic; much of it their own family recipes. The excellent sandwich bread is made in house, as is of course, the pizza dough and all their recipes. This last trip I had a plate sized Italian beef with peppers and cheese, yum! All has been great in our experiences, the pizza is wonderful! Everything we’ve had there has been good- their Italian cookies, warmed in the oven, are great, Salads are fresh and crunchy. Many different types of fountain/canned and bottled drinks are available. It’s just a typical city pizza and sandwich place and the atmosphere shows it, but it’s clean enough, feels historic, and we enjoy talking with the Gallina’s. Don’t miss this little bit of history in Springfield, it’s Italian!

Was visiting over the weekend and someone recommended this place to us. Glad they did. It’s a cute family owned place with great pizza and calzone along with a variety of other popular Italian dishes. Everyone enjoyed their food. Will definitely be back next year if we come to Springfield for state.

The food is way to expensive for what you get... 20 dollars for 6 meatballs... really. The pizza was burnt and the sauce is

I found this all that it's asking me now about a visit from a year ago. I love galena's and I will probably never stopped going here but I am sad since I've been going here 20 years ish that I've watched the food get a little less in proportion a little less sauce and things like that and yet the prices go up. I do understand inflation and how times change and so forth but it always has bothered me that people expect you to get less yet pay more. And understand better if it's pay more but get the same size but even that doesn't make a lot of sense to me. If you're going to raise prices give the customer something even if you have to raise the prices a little tiny bit more than you would otherwise but at least increase something so the customer gets something from. I will never understand will give you less but we want more money. But the people are and I've been on a first-name basis with several over the years. Including Vito who is still around and that is awesome he's a cool guy.Parking: Free or paid depending on the time of day because of meters.

Great food. Delicious food. Amazing food!We had a family special, which is advertised for $18.95 on their napkin holders but it must be advertised at $24.95 somewhere else because that is what we were charged. We ordered a large pepperoni, large ham/pineapple, a 2L of Coke, a 6 pack of beer, 2 Snapples, and a large sausage/green pepper calzone = $100.Not the best lighting but like others said, it seems to be a small mom/pop shop that has been there since 1978.A definite must stop if you are in the area.

I wanted to give this place as many stars as possible. The food was that good!! The atmosphere could have been better. Kids screaming almost the entire time we were having dinner. Kids will be kids, but the language was shocking. We had the specialty supreme pizza, and it was truly one of the best tasting, traditional style pizzas I have ever had. The guys cooking in the kitchen were, or came off as, true Italians…I am sure they were. I definitely feel like this pizza would be good delivered, but may have been somewhat soggy due to the amount of toppings. Completely worth the $$ and wish we lived closer so we could eat it more often.Cannolis for desert, not that we had room to eat them, but could not turn them down because they tasted so good.We took half the medium pizza home with us. So good. If you are in the mood for pizza, this is hands down the best one to pick. Sorry no pics.

Service was good. Food was decent - had the chicken parm and it was very hard to eat out of the dish it was served in without the noodles spilling out on the sides. Daughter had pizza and she enjoyed it.
