We go there fairly often. It's an hour drive but it's usually worth it. Good variety.
If you leave there hungry it is your own fault!

We have a family, get together, weekly,at Golden Corral. It is a convenient location for the meet up. The service, atmosphere, and delicious food, are all great.

I don't like the new set-up, my family will not be back, we used to eat there quite often, you raised the price beyond what we are willing to pay, back to the Texas Roadhouse.

A very typical GC restaurant. Relatively clean but very busy and difficult to get through. The staff was nice enough and the food was okay but things were gone frequently.

Unprofessional behavior, a “Haylee” accused us, in front of others, of stealing an achievement certificate for ONE free kid buffet that my daughter got from her school.. Management just said sorry, like their cashier didn’t just accuse paying customers of stealing. Lost our appetite and got a refund. Horrible service.

I went to the Golden Corral in Springfield, Illinois. I have eaten at their Laffayette, Indiana location & the Springfield, Illinois location was quite a disappointment. My drink sprite was only carbonated water, it took at least 30 minutes to get a fresh drink. Their food wasn't really hot it was more like warm and it just didn't have good flavor to it either. It's possible that I will try this location one more time, it could have been just an off night for them. But if I go a second time and it's bad service & bad food again I'll just not go again. I went to Texas Rhoadhouse that same week after my Golden Corral visit & I paid less than $5.00 more for a very well seasoned, sit down hot meal. I'll just plan on giving Texas Rhoadhouse my business if it comes to it.

Overall, not a bad experience at all! We got there around 10, ready to conquer breakfast before the 11 a.m. cutoff — but the buffet was looking a little picked over at first. For the price, I expected a bit more variety right out of the gate. Thankfully, around 10:45 they finally rolled out some fresh breakfast favorites, and that definitely helped save the day (even if it was just 15 minutes before switching to lunch, which was a little frustrating).

It was pretty busy — but hey, it’s Golden Corral, that’s part of the adventure! Service was friendly, though a bit slow. Not sure if they were short-staffed or just juggling too many tables (former server here, so I get it), but our drinks took a while and the plates piled up fast.

Once the hot food hit the line, though, everything tasted great and we left full and happy. Just wish the timing — and maybe the price — lined up a little better with the experience.
