This is not even close to Texas BBQ. This is the worst Texas bbq. Meats had no flavor, meats were dry. Service was great. My kids or dog didn’t even eat the nasty brisket. Try another bbq joint.

We had a group of 10. We had a great experience . The food was fantastic the service was fast, curtious, and friendly. Thankyou Hickory River
Brisket platter was terrible. It had a lot of fat in it and was very chewy. Thankfully, I had the instinct to purchase a sandwich, as well. It was lean and edible. It was an expensive lesson.
The bbq here is the absolute worst I have ever had.
Was passing through town and was in the mood for bbq and this places showed to be right off the highway which was good
The brisket is not good at all, almost like eating premade meats then rewarded
Pulled pork was to salty and chewy
They topped it with a nasty sauce which was overpowering
My sides were mashed potatoes with gravy, ok to me and my other side was corn, definitely canned
Corn bread was ok, no complaints
Pass this place unless you absolutely have too, but there are options in the area

Wasn’t a fan of the pickled coleslaw.. but the scalloped potatoes and pulled chicken sandwich with honey bbq sauce were really good. Service was quick.

Best damn BBQ I've had in a long time. Everything is tender and juicy. The potato salad is great and the ranch beans are to die for!

Not quite Texas but a great try. Brisket was above average, great turkey and sausage. Unique twist on Texas chilli. Happy to return next in town.

Placed a catering order of $150.00 worth when we went to pick it up they told us it was a up charge of $.50 a plate. We asked to see what the plate was and it was maybe a $.10 styrofoam plate. I asked for serving utensils yet another up charge. This was not disclosed when placing our order.

Tried Hickory River for the first and last time. Ordered a little of everything to try and first off Brisket was so dry and the babyback ribs and Im not making this up when I say they smelled like an old barn that hasn’t been cleaned they were also over smoked and so so dry not sure if I got yesterdays ribs. The BBQ beans were chili not bbq beans. The cornbread was also dry and as dense as a brick. The pulled pork was decent and the only thing that was good. If you’re in the mood for BBQ in the area I recommend Smokey bones, Mission BBQ or TXBBQ at the rail yard all are way better.
