This place is so unique. I love the outside garden area. My breakfast croissant was very good the avocado egg and relish on it were so fresh. The egg potatoes sausage platter was very fresh and delicious. Save room for pastries.

No WiFi! What kind of business in the modern age will not have Wi-Fi? Food is OK. Portions are small. Extremely overpriced. Often stuff is stale. Waiting in line to order is ridiculous.

We had them do our wedding cake for us and it turned out great. Opted for white cake with blueberry and lemon filling. It was amazing. Highly recommend.

I visited this bakery for the first time, and it truly went beyond my expectations. The quality and taste were absolutely incredible, and the customer service was just as impressive—friendly, attentive, and welcoming. I had breakfast here, and it was excellent and got recommended pastries for a meeting. On top of that, the location is simply mesmerizing, like something out of a storybook. I’ll definitely recommend this place to others and look forward to returning soon!

First of all - the food was very good. We had quiche, soup and chicken salad. The house is unique and lovely and it was a nice lunch to visit with friends. However, the walk and stones getting into the dining area were terribly uneven and just really dangerous and there was no handicap entrance that we could find. Once inside there was no direction or signage. Do we sit and they take our order, or do we stand in line? A little confusing. We indeed had to stand in a single line, the menu was only posted on the door so you had to wait until you were at the door and then under the gun to decide quickly because there weee other waiting behind you and you were holding up the line. It was a LONG standing time in the line. The “bakery” order area is very cramped and tiny and in a room- it wasn’t like you could stand to the side an peruse all the goodies before you picked what you wanted- again people waiting behind you. There was ONE cash register and the cashier was trying to multi- task: take orders, get drinks, grab pastries, follow you to you table with stuff that you couldn’t carry in one trip - no trays. Just VERY disorganized and chaotic. The seating area was nice and pretty. This is not a fast food place where you can grab and go so why not have a seated service with servers taking your order with REAL menus that you can actually take time to peruse and decide what to eat? The current set up would work for ONE person who knew what they wanted and could get in and out in a hurry not didn’t work for a party of four.

Reviewing years later - I visited this bakery while on a road trip 10 years ago, and to this day I still think about how wonderful this place is. Beautiful red brick and sleepy tree-lined street setting, perfect cozy ambiance, friendly staff, all the baked goods were world class, and you can hang out there with your pastries and coffee reading a book or talking with friends for as long as you want.

I'm in california now and occasionally consider flying over just to visit this bakery again - that's now nice it is.

Today was my first time visiting & I was highly disappointed. Not because of the drinks or food but because of the lack of customer service. I went in right before closing, not realizing it since it was my first time there. But I was going to pick up something for a friend. Anyway, I walked in & there were three people behind the counter, one man & two ladies. They all looked at me while they were talking & then turned away as if I hadn't come in. I stepped back to make sure I was in the right place. As I turned to leave, there was another lady walking by so I confirmed I was in the right location & asked if I could still place an order. She says yes & started talking to one of the ladies behind the counter. But I made her aware of what happened & she was a little helpful. However, I ended up not placing an order. It's hard for me to walk into a place of business & not be acknowledged at all & still do business. I left feeling really disappointed. After being gone for 10 years, I'm relearning Springfield & finding new places to enjoy. But this is one place I will not be returning to. I'm not sure if anyone will care, but I just couldn't let the rudeness & lack of customer service slide.
