I had the carne asada torta and it was delish!! I am born and raised in Arizona- from a traditional Mexican family and its very hard to get authentic Mexican food here in IL, so I was super excited when my first bite was amazing! Thank you Sabores for making me feel like I am back home ❤️

It was an ok experience, it just took a while and was a little expensive for what it was.

I should say, I've not tried the bar, that's not really my thing personally, but there were no issues with the bar or noise. It was perfectly family friendly, just a little expensive.

This was my first and last visit to this place. I’m a resident of Chatham and decided to try this restaurant, but I was very disappointed.

I ordered the steak fajitas, but what I received could barely be called that — it was mostly vegetables with barely any meat. It felt more like a veggie fajita. On top of that, the dish lacked any bold or authentic Mexican seasoning.

I also tried a margarita, but it tasted strange and off — almost as if it was intentionally done wrong.

Overall, it was not a pleasant experience, and I won’t be returning.

I won’t even talk about the waiter — I’d rather not be more disappointed.

Food was cold and not very flavorful. Worst part was we were sitting right next the kitchen and I didn’t hear a stove running the whole time. Atmosphere was dark and depressing. Although we did get some pretty rockin cold and chunky queso dip. So that made the whole experience worth it lol

Food was bland, looked like it came out of a bag and warmed up in a microwave. Chips and salsa was bad. Took awhile to get food and drink.

This was our first time eating here. Food was really good, which is the only reason I gave 2 stars. Service was crappy. After being seated and then taking our order it was like we were forgotten. At no point did anyone come check to see how we were doing, did we need anything, refill our drinks, nothing. I try to be understanding, especially if a place is busy, however, it was not busy at all. There was literally 1 or 2 other tables. Not sure if they were understaffed or what. If so, they should have apologized in advanced and said something so we wouldn't be disappointed that there was 5 of us spending a total of over $100 for the meal and eating with no drinks. First impression was definitely no bueno. Don't think we'll be back anytime soon🫤

One person working. Wanted frozen margaritas. Was not told they were made with ice cream. Never heard of a margarita made with ice cream. Wasn’t good. Cost $14. I go to a lot of Mexican restaurants. This one was probably the worst. Service was bad as well.

Placed an $80 order online at 7:45PM on March 5th 2025. Got to the restaurant at 8:15 and they told me that their machine was broke and they didn’t get my order. I was understand and ran to run an errand down the road. Came back, picked up my order, and went home. When I got home, the majority of my order was wrong. Both orders of my tacos had wrong ingredients, paid extra to have beans and rice that I never got, paid extra to have chicken on my kids quesadillas and they didnt have chicken on them. Tried calling them and they didn’t answer, tried emailing them and didn’t get an answer. I have been going there since I moved to Chatham area and this was a huge disappointment. They didn’t try to partially refund the order or fix it. Save yourself some time and fine a different Mexican restaurant in the Springfield area. They’re about a dime a dozen. I suggest Xochimilco. They’ve never given me this type of treatment. Willing to bet the staff of Mas Sabares won’t even respond to this review, why would they if they didn’t answer the phone, email, or messages I sent them on their website.

I have driven from Springfield to Chatham 2x in the past 3 days just to eat here after class. As a New Yorker that recently moved here, it can be difficult to find authentic Mexican food in the area and I am SO HAPPY I FOUND THIS PLACE. The servers and owners are so nice and attentive. The food is DELICIOUS. And the Mexican bread is great! I ordered Mexican bread (conchas) to share with classmates for a Spanish class and it was a hit! I need to go back to try more food and their margarita towers! Highly recommend!

First time visiting this place, and we truly enjoyed our experience, the attention, and the food.
We came when it was empty. I connected with Michael, our server, and Alan, our bartender.
We had the street tacos, original with cilantro, onions, lime, salsa, and the tortillas dipped in oil just like CDMX and Cuernavaca. I had the chorizo, carnitas and al pastor. I also had the tacos acorazados, and they did not disappoint. We loved the tamarind margaritas; they tasted so delicious. My wife had the tinga tostadas too and enjoyed them. The owe me the torta de papa tacos as they were out.
We plan on coming back.
