Stopped in while traveling. The historical atmosphere was very neat. They are said to be known for their homemade root beer, I was not impressed. It seemed like flat root beer. The maid rite sandwich was good. Prices were excellent.

Waited in line for almost three hours to be told out of food....and an "oh well" Watched people come through other doors and get served ahead of us. Was one of my top five places Not anymore...
Need to see the original Maid-Rite. The food was great and the employees were super friendly. Highly recommended.

A legit Springfield institution. So glad we went here, such a great history and the food is really great too, not to mention the best root beer you'll ever taste. And the service is outstanding!!! Might have to go back before we ride out.
