Stopped in while traveling. The historical atmosphere was very neat. They are said to be known for their homemade root beer, I was not impressed. It seemed like flat root beer. The maid rite sandwich was good. Prices were excellent.
A legit Springfield institution. So glad we went here, such a great history and the food is really great too, not to mention the best root beer you'll ever taste. And the service is outstanding!!! Might have to go back before we ride out.
This is the "original" Maid-Rite. The menu is simple (4 combo options), but prices seemed high (but I guess everything seems that way anymore). For a hamburger-size Maid-Rite sandwich, handful of fries, and frosty mug of root beer, it was $11 (2024). So, the portion and quality was a bit low compared to price. Service was quick and friendly.
