My goodness… my finacé & I came here for Valentine’s Day. While it was extremely busy with everyone wanting to celebrate with their partners, the staff here went genuinely above & beyond to make it work seamlessly. The hostess, TT, in between seating people spent time asking us in the lobby about our days. Our server, Lontreal, was the sweetest, most hospitable servers I have ever had. He is certainly someone who cares about people! The server to neighboring tables as well did a beautiful job. Our food was exceptional & I finished every single bit of it (unusual for me personally, so you know it’s delicious!) I want to thank the staff & kitchen for making our evening exceptional & not showing a single drop of sweat with how busy it was. You all are amazing! Thank you! We’ll certainly be back soon.

I was invited to a rehearsal dinner at Maldaner's and had heard wonderful things about the restaurant. We were a party of 24 seated in the bar at 3 tables. We ran a tab for our bar drinks as that was not included in the dinner. The first disappointment was with the warm goat cheese salad. The goat cheese was breaded and deep fried. I normally don't eat deep fried food and have never seen goat cheese breaded or deep fried. That should definitely have been in the description. Next, I ordered the trout plate. I normally don't eat smoked fish. The party menu card on our table did not say "smoked," just trout plate. Since this was a prearranged dinner we did not see the regular menu where it is described as smoked. The next disappointment was to realize that gratuity was added automatically to our bar tab. I understand that this is the restaurant's policy and it is stated on the menu, but again, I did not see a menu as it was a prearranged dinner. Our server neglected to mention that a gratuity was added so our server was tipped twice. The final disappointment was in telling the manager of our disappointment and hearing a flippant response. We feel we were not treated very well at Maldaner's and won't return.
I live in Springfield and have been to Maldaner’s more than 100 times. The consistent quality is matchless. You won’t be disappointed, in fact, you’ll be impressed. The hospitality, the presentation, the food, all five stars. I’ve navigated this menu like an explorer. If you are in town for one night, this is the place to choose. If you live here, it needs to be on regular rotation. Some of my favorites are the Sea Bass, the Filet and the salmon. Try the Queen of Sheba for dessert, or the apple crisp served hot from the oven with ice cream.
We were able to sit outside as the weather was beautiful. The food and waitress were great!! We will definitely be back!!

Went for a murder mystery dinner. It was a limited menu but pretty good. The ac was broke so a bit stuffy. It was on the 2nd floor but they have an elevator if you need one.

Who says you can't go home? We returned to Maldaner's for a second time after a year's absence and it was excellent in every way. We had the tomato salad special and crab cake. The tomatoes had that distinctive fresh from the garden flavor. If this option is still available and you love tomatoes, don't hesitate. For mains we went with the Beef Wellington and Braised Chicken. It's an individual Wellington served over mash potato and it is wonderful. My only critique, is the mash could have been a little creamier, as in more butter and cream - might as well go all in on a dish like this. My wife's chicken was also excellent. We usually leave with doggie bags. Not from Maldaner's and it's not because the portions are small. We finished with a workman like apple crumble. The service was great. The waiter thought us how to uncork a bottle: you turn the bottle not the corkscrew. We tried it this weekend and it works. So our visit keeps on giving. Without question, Maldaner's is among our best restaurant experiences. Worth visiting Springfield just for this dining experience.

Came for dinner. Split the Beef Wellington & a salad. Both were very good. The only thing I wish was different were the mash potatoes. They tasted like they were boxed not fresh. Parking was free after 5:00.
