In this McDonald's, hope has long since been processed into something flavorless and wrapped in paper. The burgers arrive as they always do, identical, predictable, almost comforting in their resignation. It is a place where time does not pass so much as sit heavily, like grease cooling on fries. The decor is corporate sameness, a tranquilizer in beige and plastic, designed to remind you of nothing so you cannot mourn what once was.
And yet, in the corner, persists a monument to a forgotten dream: the indoor play place. It stands not as a beacon of joy, but as an artifact, a crumbling shrine to a childhood world that has already ended. The faded plastic tubes twist not with possibility, but with the haunted inertia of something that refuses to acknowledge its own obsolescence. It remains because removing it would require effort and intention, and decay always wins the long game. Children still climb it, unaware they are scaling the bones of a bygone era, while adults look on with the dull recognition that innocence is both fleeting and fundamentally unsustainable.
This play place is not whimsical. It is defiant, decaying, and absurd, a colorful skeleton trapped in the amber of corporate neglect. Its greatest lesson is unintentional: even the brightest spaces built for laughter will one day echo only with the hollow hum of artificial lights and the quiet sighs of people eating because hunger demands it, not because joy ever will again.
In the end, we do not dine here; we simply persist. The play place persists too, not out of purpose, but out of sheer apathy, a plastic reminder that not everything outlives meaning by choice.
All the McDonald’s in Springfield are terrible and I’ll never order from another one. They gave my mobile order away to someone else today. The attitudes are always awful and they mess up about 50 percent of the orders I make. Shout out to Bernadette in the morning whom should be the only high paid employee they have.

Employees are nasty they don’t wear gloves and playing (dancing) round food while eating snacks/food chewing over people food as they prepare it. Nobody wear hair nets any more these days and nobody wants crumbs from people mouths and hands over their food while they putting the order together. No discipline or pride or dignity while working. Highly doubt anything changes or employees are held accountable!

I'd be embarrassed to own this establishment. There are no supplie stations available to the public at all in the lobby. The staff is rude and purposely avoids you. Its insane that there are no napkins or anything in the lobby. You have to stand in line for 20 minutes each time to beg staff for anything or to correct your order. They might as well close the lobby permanently. Pathetic

This location is filthy and not well managed. Someone needs to be available at the counter at all times. I can’t ask the kiosk for napkins to clean off the table.

this doesn’t go for every employee at this establishment because i’ve had good experience with some super sweet people. unfortunately there is this one younger lady who is always extremely rude. when we go through the drive thru, we’ll say our first meal and after she’ll immediately cut us off, tell us the price, and then not answer again. there’s been multiple times where we’ve had to either go inside or go to the first window and add everything we wanted because she didn’t want to listen. i work in the food industry and if you don’t want to work a job then quit and don’t work a job!! you shouldn’t take it out on your customers.
