Best donuts I've ever had. I make an effort to leave with a box of at least 12 anytime I'm in town from where I live in Wisconsin now.

The old-fashion donuts are the best. They make me want to mel-o-cream my jeans !

The service was great and the donuts were not bad but were not as airy as I prefer. I would still visit again and try some different ones.

Best donuts I’ve ever had. Long Johns, cinnamon rolls, regular glazed, they’re all really good in my opinion.

I went into Fair Hills Mel O Cream and the nicest employee was there and very friendly understood me she was over the top. She deserves a raise.

This is for the new one on Yucan in Springfield. First time to one of these & probably the last. Donuts tasted burnt & chocolate frosting was gritty. Way too expensive for us. Walmart & others places are far les expensive & taste much better.

Full disclosure- I love donuts. In Springfield- this chain of donut shops was consistently mentioned to me as the go-to place for donuts. Any variety with chocolate was my favorite. I thought the maple was a bit too mapley (new made- up word) for my taste. This is probably a bit of a 3.5 rating. Why? First off- there was a fly in the donut case. I know this might by nit- picky, but it was ick. The second thing is that even if you are buying a dozen to share with your office the donuts are individually priced, so they are on the expensive side. I can't fully recall the price- but definitely over $20. Good- but not great. If you've sampled many non-chain donuts you might by a bit underwhelmed.

Best overpriced donuts in the city...they've been a staple to the city of Springfield IL for decades, but now have serious competition. They're a little arrogant about that, thinking that because they've been around the longest they're going to remain in business by default ?‍♂️...but they are good donuts, no doubt...

The donuts are the best in the world. Staff was great as well!

I’ve tried many donuts on my travels and I still think Mel-O-Cream is the best. I have been eating them for over 60 years. Thanks!!!

We showed up for the first time to Mel o cream. It was 9:30 AM on a Saturday, and this location had less than half of their donut menu available. Service was good, but was immediately disappointed by the selection. Drive through also has no real menu, just paper taped to the glass. The donuts were comparable to gas station/grocery store baked goods. If you're in a hurry, or need a quick fix I recommend the glazed donut. A bonus to this location was the gluten free option; however, it tastes more like a cupcake than a donut.
