The lady that was working was extremely polite and assisted me with my purchase as I wasn't sure what they had. The donuts were very good and fresh. I just wish they would have had what we used to call a vanilla. Angel which is a powder covered cake donut with light fluffy cream inside. Not sure what they call them now but all they had was pudding filled.
Cozy spot to walk to in the morning. Nice staff, relaxed!

I enjoyed the chocolate cake donut! Old-school donut shop with classic, simple options for everyone. Also has a small dining room where you can sit and enjoy your food before starting your day!
Great service. I had no trouble getting the clerk to fill my thermos instead of taking a cup. The variety of doughnuts was also very good.

Had my Oreo cream filled donut and coffee. Best donuts ever! So if you go through Springfield IL. Stop for a Donut, you won't be disappointed. Great hospitality, thanks.
A friend and I went in to have doughnuts and something to drink. The lady behind the counter was very kind and helpful in explaining what each of the doughnuts was. There was a wide variety of doughnuts and drinks as well. The prices were very reasonable. The doughnuts were great. The atmosphere was very casual and laid back. I highly recommend Mel-o-Cream and will be going back there soon myself.
Parking: There are several parking spots in front of the building and a parking lot to the side as well.
Wheelchair accessibility: The building has a wide entrance door which makes it wheelchair accessible.

Hey, it's donuts! Basic, but they do then well. None of those "Maple Bacon glazed" or creme brulee donuts", but they know how to make a donut. Good thing I don't live here, or I'd worry about my waistline, and it was one of the first places I stopped both times I've been in town.
