This is a very convenient location, right inside the museum. The employees did not know some of the food prices and were not that friendly. My wife and I both ordered soup and a Turkey sandwich. The soup was fair and so was the sandwich. It's hard not to eat here because you don't have to go out and come back but, if you have the time I would go somewhere else to eat lunch.
My family and a large group of friends from our church went there on the second Friday of this September, and had a rather negative experience. I ordered a personal favorite, the pit-smoked brisket on Italian bread with smoked cheddar and barbecue sauce. Normally I get that sandwich with an assortment of veggies and peppers, along with extra BBQ cuz I mean hey, who doesn't like that?? But anyways, I get to the second part of them constructing my sandwich, and without even asking if I wanted anything else, the worker proceeded to cut my sandwich in half, which is the last step before they wrap it in paper. I politely asked if I may have some more toppings, and in turn received a dirty look from the employee. I did receive my toppings, although sparse, but struggled to eat my sandwich as she never finished cutting it through, seeing as the employee left off the cut at about three-quarters through. Overall it was a very negative experience, and I recommend getting employees who actually care about what their customers prefer on their meals. Thank you!
I hate to post a bad review, but I've never seen employees so disinterested in providing any level of customer service. There was hardly any communication, and the ordering process crept along at less than a snail's pace, when we were the only people in line for two employees to manage. The sliders had horribly dry bread that you could hardly bite or chew, but the wrap and sandwich were good.
This Subway is attached to the Lincoln Presidential Museum. It was a great find for a mid morning snack. The muffins (blueberry & chocolate chip) were very good. The service was excellent. Just be aware that you cannot carry any food back into the museum.
To break up our long visit to the Lincoln Presidential Museum and Library, we had a quick lunch at the Subway on the premises. Certainly the location is handy. But the chicken sandwich we ordered was tasteless, and certainly sub-standard (pardon the pun) for Subways elsewhere in Springfield and in other cities we've visited.
This is located in the museum. Staff was very friendly and our sub was very good. After a hour or two in the museum this was a nice place to take a break and recharge.
As hit or miss as Subway usually is this one just happened to have the freshest bread I ever tried. Service could be better and faster though especially with nobody else ordering at the time.
Customer service (especially the management) is incredibly rude and inconsiderate. I (along with 7 other parents) were chaperoning a group of 28 third graders through the museum. The students brought their lunches, and the parents were going to buy their lunches from Subway. We asked the two employees manning the Subway if the kids could eat their lunches at the table with us. They said that it was for paying customers only. We asked if it was ok we bought 28 cookies (as well as 7 meals) if they could then eat with us. The employees said that would be ok. The kids all sit down, begin eating their lunches (this was at 11:30AM and the restaurant was empty). There were 12 empty tables available and an additional section that was roped off. At that point, the manager storms out of the kitchen like a bat out of hell and yells at us that we can't eat here. I asked why not and she said that it was for paying customers only. We told her that we bought 7 meals and cookies for the kids so we indeed were paying customers. She said that we still didn't count. (?!?!?). By this point, there was a line of 2 people at the checkout with senior coffees. The managers said that we need to get up so that they paying customers would have a place to sit. I pointed out that there were empty tables in the roped off section. She told us that we needed to leave. This manager was extremely rude and cruel to a group of 3rd graders. And we're in the Abraham Lincoln Museum where Abe Lincoln's main vision was that everybody should be treated the same.
So we ate here merely for the convenience of the location - inside the Lincoln Museum. The lady who made our sandwiches was so sweet, talking to all of us and interacting with our teenagers a lot. She was just great! I wish I knew her name so I could share it here. Our food was good - made just as we asked. It was also fast service here and the place was clean.
Unhelpful staff/management.

Never coming here AGAIN! Terrible place. Don't go here people!
Slooowwesst ever. Not that difficult to make sandwiches. Been to many subways. Should have left. We only needed 2 items. No long line. Just really slow with no sense of care OR friendliness..
I work at one of the subways in Galesburg, and we would never treat our customers like these people did here. I was talking to one of the girls about the outfits and she was really rude and stared at me with a blank face. All we wanted was some drinks and some chips from a long day of walking around the museum. She didn't wait patiently for us to grab our chips and figure out what size drinks we wanted. Horrible customer service. Rude workers.
Terrible customer service. Jennifer, the manager, refused to allow a customer to purchase lettuce and tomatoes for a six inch sub that was prepared and served with only bread, cheese, and meat. If there is no charge for vegetables on a sandwich, why not allow a side of a few veggies, especially if customer is willing to pay for it? If you do not care about customer satisfaction, I guess it makes sense.
Unhelpful staff/management. When asked if I could purchase vegtables for a school group bag lunch sandwich that contained only meat and cheese, I was refused and offered a $10 veggie tray I was welcome to purchase or I could buy another sandwich with veggies. All I wanted was some lettuce and tomato. Veggies are complimentary on all sandwiches. Management (Jennifer) and staff could not care less about customer satisfaction.
