I’m from Chicago, wife is from Southern California. We moved to Springfield a couple of years ago. El Pollo is our favorite place in town. Over the weekend we saw a moving truck out front and started to freak out lol. Glad to see they aren’t leaving us!

Service was great, no complaints there, chips and salsa also given upon seating which also was fine. The main issue was with the food! Stopped in at peak lunch time and ordered a simple cheese quesadilla with rice and beans. First, the rice and beans were both cold somehow, not even warm. The rice was extremely bland. Didn’t seem to have any veggies or anything in it let alone flavor. Tasted like cold plain rice with orange coloring. The quesadilla was the only thing hot on the plate, but I expected authentic Mexican, and the cheese here was not your traditional Oaxaca or chihuahua. It was a processed white cheese similar to kraft singles, with a plasticky taste. The only thing on the plate I was able to finish was the beans and only because I was hungry and had spent $9.05 on this plate already.

The food really was not that good. The taco and burrito meat was very salty as well as the beans. The women's bathroom smelled like sewer and had a big hunk of something brownish red on the floor. I don't recommend this place place at all.

It would be a struggle if I needed to use my wheelchair here - crumbling ramp from parking to sidewalk, bathroom definitely wouldn’t work for wheelchair. Dining area could support a wheelchair plenty of space there

I have been there quite a few times. I have had Nochos, beef, chicken, and the supreme, beef, tacos, chicken, tacos, steak tacos, and fajitas, and all was very good but the service is slow and needs a some of work.
Parking: The parking lot is pretty rough with lots of holes and hard to park

The food is rich in flavor, can be ordered spicy or regular, and is low in sodium. The portion size is generousThe guacamole is fresh, and each year they have a cool shirt available for Cinco de Mayo.
Absolutely worth the money. Excellent quality and we loved it. The corn and flower tortillas were both fresh and excellent! Great hot sauce too.

I come here frequently. Good food, good drinks, and very nice staff. They have specials on margaritas on the weekends that are so cheap! Love coming here for some drinks. Definitely recommend trying this place ??
