Killer Burgers and great people!

Whoa mama. Butter my biscuits and slap my pappy, because we caught us a good one. I'll relax. But CoCo, aside from its name, is a solid place to get some home cooked fixins. The biscuits and cinnamon rolls are made in house each day, delicious gravy and "smashed" burgers will delight, with a nice watery diner coffee or cool sweet tea to boot. Popular for blue collar locals, I stop by whenever I'm in transit between Chicago and St. Louis. It's worth holding out as you pass the fast food chains along i55 and won't break the bank. The perfect place to slow down, have a chat with your waitress or the gentleman to your side with a paper. Full of "real" people, Cafe CoCo will fill you with real food and nourish the soul before hitting the lonely road. Bathrooms aren't amazing, and it can have a bit of a lunch rush, but sometimes slowing down is part of the journey. Oh, and don't forget the pie!

Quick and efficient service as I settled in. The server was polite and engaging. Food was tasty (teriyaki chicken sandwich) and arrived promptly. Interior decor is comfortable and you can tell the locals like the place. I'd come back as I like local establishments.

The place isn't especially clean looking but the food is decent, coffee is very good.kn The staff is very nice, it's the kinda place you want to come to be treated like a person. I wish I could hang out here more often

This place is one of my new favorite breakfast spots. The apple fritters taste like something you would find at the state fair. The cinnamon rolls are absolutely delicious and the pies all look amazing!! I always judge a breakfast spot on how they cook their eggs. This place does a great job on a fried hard egg (you'd be surprised how many places don't).

I have never been to your place of business. Why am I getting a request to rate my experience? Do you solicit responses from non customers? Are the companies running your advertisement statistics fraudulent? Is someone pretending to be someone they're not?

I absolutely love this place. In fact, I eat breakfast there at least five days per week. They have a friendly, responsive staff and excellent food. And I like that it is locally owned.

Happened by this little spot. We were actually looking for a bar & pulled in here. It said diner & pie shop, but had beer signs. We went in, met the awesome waitress, jeanette, had a beer. She was super pleasant. Food looked good (didn't eat). Quite a pie selection!! Will stop again for sure!

Well we have been here numerous times and it was actually a place we looked forward to going to. Every year the bowling alley that the restaurant is in holds a major tournament. With that we use to go to the restaurant and their food and staff was outstanding. You could order what you wanted and how you wanted and they use to get it right in every time and we just could not say enough about the place. Well that all switched. Now they went to a buffet style food and in my opinion everything went down hill. Start with the food. And these are just some of the examples and not all. Say breakfast. You want hash browns.... they are barely cooked white and chewy. Bacon is soaked in grease and looks like it was cooked all together. Eggs are runny and taste like powder. Biscuits hard as a rock. Like typical buffet food things were dried out and under cooked. Then for the staff. First we watched a lady come in from smoking then stop another worker who was being out more fried chicken and take it from her walk over to the buffet and hand touch every piece as she put it in the old dish. Second a lady was cutting stuff for the buffet in plain view from the counter and she licked her fingers and then continued picking things up and placing them in the container. For me I miss the old restaurant and think they ruined a great thing. Hygiene use was not good and food under cooked now.

Whether you're a local or in town for a visit this is a place you need to try. What a great place to eat without the chain restaurant feeling. The food here is awesome. It's made to order and always delicious. The wait staff is friendly and customer service is a priority. The pies are homemade and second to none. We ordered pies for Thanksgiving and picked them Wednesday afternoon to say the least they were delicious.

We are here on a Saturday afternoon when it wasn't too busy. After sitting, it took awhile just to have someone wait on us. There were only two waitresses which is probably the reason behind the wait. The staff was pretty nice though and once we did have our orders taken, we had pretty consistent service. The food came out relatively quick, and was okay. I ordered a pork tenderloin sandwich, and my husband a burger. It was nothing phenomenal, but not bad either. I was expecting a pork tenderloin similar to what you get at the state fair, which was probably my fault for expecting that. My husband said his food was cold, but the temperature of mine was fine. We also ordered pie, since it was what we were told it was known for. The pie was good - again nothing phenomenal. I had coconut cream pie and he had the triple chocolate mousse (TCM). Would we eat there again? Probably not. It was what you would call your typical greasy spoon restaurant - cheap, decent food, appears "lived in" but generally clean, and full of usual customers. Lastly, there is no changing table in the bathrooms. As a parent, that's always a negative.

Normally rave on Coco breakfast. Went last Saturday 7/23/16 and it was kind of disappointing. None of the long time staff were there and service was quite poor! Very sad. Food was still OK. Just wait staff would make me not go back if they were the regular staff. Really bad. I hope it was just an isolated incident. Be really sad if her cafe goes to crap.

Well worth the stop - and pleasantly surprised. Other reviews were spot on. One of the most flavorful was homemade potato chips. The turkey club was large portioned - and the chicken tacos were a perfect size. The peanut butter pie was one of the best I have ever tasted.

Small, quaint, and cozy. If you believe that the best food comes from Hole in the Wall places, then CoCo's is for you. Some of the best diner food you'll find, hands down. We've tried and soundly recommend the burgers (hubs says its one of the best flavored burgers around), meatloaf, horseshoe, breakfast tacos, and omelettes. Oh and the Bloody Mary is a fine version for those mornings when a little hair of the dog (and some good diner food) will bring you back to the land of the living. And I haven't even mentioned the pies. Try a slice. Of any of them. Just try the pie.
