I've been to this restaurant twice now. Each time, the food has been excellent. The food tasted wonderful and fresh, and the portion size was enough for a very hearty eater. Don't let the name, bland exterior nor the strip mall location fool you; try it yourself.

My family and I loved the food. This was our first time coming. We ended driving down to Illinois and saw this place on our way to the location.
Was definitely worth the stop.
Food was also very filling and worth the price for the amount of food that you get.

Also appreciate the patience they had with us trying to calm our toddler down.

The food was very good, high quality, but a bit pricey and the beer selection was awful. The Ugly Burger looked great, so we’ll be back to try that. They really seemed to pride themselves on cleanliness of the restaurant. Overall, we’d definitely recommend stopping by.

This establishment is an oasis of perfectly seasoned and textured food. In a region of bland and uncultured food, this restaurant is a beacon of hope for anyone who is tired of the same old slop you commonly find in central Illinois. I drive an hour out of my way to come here on my way to Chicago just for the beef doner and baklava. Very clean building and nice staff.

What a treasure—this was the best Turkish food I’ve had outside of Turkey. The kebab and Mecver plate—a vegetarian patty—were outstanding, especially with the garlic yogurt sauce and red onion salad (more like a pickle accompaniment). Highly recommend!

Finally got to try it out yesterday and we loved it! Friendly staff, clean place and most importantly fantastic food! We had the sampler, chicken donner & steak kabobs. All was delicious including the carrot salad! Would definitely recommend and we will be back!

Ask for Tanja to be your server. She was awesome!!! We were excited to try Ugly Restaurant, as we love Turkish food. These folks did not disappoint.

Tanja brought us some pita bread and carrot salad to start. That was complementary. We had a couple of cocktails from the bar, which were very good. We next had the Cigar Borek, which were little cheese rolls with a spicy tomato dip that was outstanding!

We then ordered the beef doner wrap, which was just delicious! The beef they use for this is really tender and delicious.

We cannot wait to return to this lovely Ugly Restaurant. :)

WOW. My husband and I shared the sampler meat dish, then delicious Desserts.

Food was delicious. Plenty of dishes to try. Server was super nice. Ambiance is pretty casual.

Turkish fare, pretty good!

Good food at fair prices

Pita is wonderful, beef and lamb doner is good, adana kabob is excellent. I recommend going.
