We had a group of about 12 of us that chose here after my Grandma's funeral service because it had something on the menu for everyone. I had been here at a prior time and enjoyed my food. First off, the server had an additude. He was condescending and short. 3 of the vegans in our group ordered the vegan beef. 2 of them couldn't finish it was so bad, and one was so hungry they inhaled it regardless. I tried a piece of it, and I can confirm it was horrible. Then my dish was set in front of me, the Veggie bowl. If you look at the menu, it was missing about HALF of the ingredients. It was a large pile of rice, with roasted potatoes and a few onions and mushrooms, and some arugula. There was absolutely NO Butternut squash, acorn squash, and sweet potato, and -minimal- sauce drizzled on top. I stopped and kindly explained what was going on with my dish. He stared at me for a second, with a 'Ok and? What do you want me to do about it' look, and he said, "Do you want me to say something?". I said, "Yes, please." As I continued to ate my flavorless potatoes and rice. He returned and said the cook said, "They pre-make a medley of the vegetables, and they all taste the same." Then just stared at me, like ' can I walk away now???". It was bland, boring, incorrect, and I got ripped off. And my they insulted my intelligence. Everyone who was vegan did NOT enjoy their meals. The whole experience was not good. I will not be returning. I don't think any of us will be returning. Even the non vegan people with us were like how, how unprofessional and rude. We made light and joke out of it in the end. "Did you enjoy your potatoes and rice?" Don't waste your time here. If you want potatoes and rice, go to Taco Bell, they'll be better. And a vegan beef from Buona instead.

Was traveling for my YouTube and Rumble channels. Stopped for lunch and had the peirogi and sausage plate. Very good. The beer was a plus. Not many places that fry the peirogi after making them as my family always did. Make them especially good.

Wow it was good! , not a huge craft beer drinker but had something for everyone there was Mexican style beer that was light and easy drinking. Had the nachos app plenty for 4 and really really good. Will return. Not cheap, $105 app, two dinners, 2 wine 3 beers.

We enjoyed an in-between hockey games dinner. The food, beverages and service was superb. Perfect evening to visit this quaint establishment. Not to mention fantastic beverages. Will most definitely visit this restaurant, brewery in the future.

Alter Brewing was so accommodating to us with a 2 month old and 1 year old, making space for us after the Electric Parade. Also shout out to them for having a baby changing table in the bathroom!

OMG they just dropped a new fun Chicago classic and it did not disappoint! Get a great beer and some fun grub!

We had our rehearsal dinner there. The staff was incredible, they made sure all of our guests had an amazing time! Planning everything was super easy too, they think of everything! The food was amazing! We enjoy going there for dinner regularly and the buffet food was just as good as their regular menu. They were also super accommodating for some of our guests with dietary restrictions.
The entire staff there did a great job making our night so special!

We had a great experience having our wedding rehearsal dinner at Alter Brewery. We worked with Ashley on planning the event. She was very quick to respond and presented us with multiple options. The quote we received was very competitive with the other venues we were looking at. The restaurant is in a newly developed area in downtown St. Charles right by the Fox River. The servers were quick to serve our food and take our drink orders. Our guests loved the appetizer and sandwiches that were served. They also enjoyed the beer and cocktail options. We would highly recommend Alter Brewing for events!
