We went for the chili cook off. Loved the setup, loved the chilis! Only downside was the cornbreads were undercooked. We've been going to the St Charles location since it opened and love it there.

We ordered three drinks, three entrées, and one dessert, and the bill came to a whopping $120. This place is definitely overpriced if you’re going there primarily for a meal. The food was okay overall and not worth the price, though the wagyu meatballs were especially delicious and definitely worth ordering.

The beers are reasonably priced and there’s a good variety to choose from, which is a plus. I also liked the ambience, it’s a nice space to hang out. However, the service was mediocre and the server was quite distracted. When we entered, no one greeted us, and we had to walk deep into the restaurant to find a server, which made for a poor first impression.

Also worth noting that the kitchen closes at 9 p.m. on weekdays. This place might be more enjoyable on weekends, but it’s not really worth visiting on a weekday.

Overall, better suited for drinks and ambience than for a full meal.

Service very slow .Had to ask for check two times. Celebrated my son’s birthday. They told me a candle with complimentary dessert , however I was charged for it.

A little louder than normal but that's because of the bears game. Never felt rushed, not overly crowded. Good time.

Wanted a night out with the kids but hadn't made any reservations so I went on Open Table app and looked to see if any place had space for 5 at or near 6pm. In STC, Alter Brewing was available so I booked it. Service was fine. The food was, in our opinion, overpriced for the quality. Four of us had the meatball sandwich. This was nothing special. Not a ton of flavor. Mine had lots of cheese on top while my son's next to me had not cheese on top of his meatballs. They all said the sandwich was meh. My wife had the barbecue chicken flatbread pizza. There wasn't a lot of chicken on the pizza. Some of the squares had no chicken. I probably should've got a burger.

Disappointed is an understatement. Made reservations for my birthday and aside from feeling so unwelcomed upon entering where we stood around for 5 minutes with no host just to be told to sit wherever, the food was horrible. Steak and frites was swimming in A1 sauce which it wasn’t even supposed to come with, whereas the buffalo wings had no sauce, cheese curds were sweet with some kind of sugar syrup?!? And we had to send the jalapeño cocktail back it was horrible but when we tried to order 2 other mixed drinks we were told they were out of all juices

We stopped in to Alter after a show at the Arcada. The server recommended a great beer for me. And the shrimp tacos were fantastic. Highly recommend.

I’ve been to Alter Brewing (St. Charles) several times over the course of the past 2-3 years. I have never been disappointed.

During my visit yesterday, I ordered the Salmon Lunch Bowl. My colleagues ordered Rice Against the Machine and the Crunchy Shrimp BBQ bowl. It was $13.99 in restaurant. It was the perfect size for a lunch. Our entire group was satisfied with the service and serving size of the bowls.

In previous visits, I have fish and chips and the shrimp tacos. It was all delicious.

Vincent at the bar is absolutely atrocious. Will never be visiting again. Wonder how they can hire such vile people. My two girlfriends and I have never been disrespected by a bartender in this way, I understand a rush is stressful, but why take it out on paying customers?

This weekend my first time ever coming to Alter Brew, and let me say it was phenomenal! My husband and I came in late friday night and we sat at the bar. Haili was our bartender and the service was excellent and she answered our numerous questions and provided a very inviting visit. I was made the perfect cosmopolitan and my husband got one of their IPA’s. The food menu has great and various options and the beers on tap are crisp. We ordered their hot chicken and one of their many burgers and the chicken sandwich is probably one of the best around. The ambiance rounded the whole experience out all together and we definitely will be back!

The place is nice. They apparently have 3 locations but it felt as corporate as a TGIF or Applebees.
The beer is all very fruity. Struggled to find a beer that actually tasted like a beer and not a mimosa. The pierogis were great but the rest of the food was fairly bland.

Decent place to stop by if you’re in the area but I wouldn’t go out of my way to go here.
Overall. Meh
