I frequently order carry out from Gia Mia St.Charles and would give 5 Stars for past orders and service, however 3/04/2024 was a fail from my initial call to order pickup to my follow up phone call.I waited on hold four minutes and my call was disconnected so I walked over to place my order. The unfortunate server was trying her best to answer the phone, take orders from four parties she seated at 11AM opening and her attempt to take my order. She was very pleasant and apologetic for the dropped phone call and I assured her it was fine and placed my order.This was a management failure to leave the location to attend to a water leak at the Geneva location, leaving her with no support at a busy lunch time opening. My order took twice as long, due to lack of employee coverage; not the server’s fault.Upon arriving home, I opened my food container to find my meal appearing to look like a jumbled stew, with a poor presentation. Instead of a serving of fingerling potatoes, there was one small potato and about a tbsp. and a half of a smashed potato mess. The carrots were greasy and swimming in excessive grease. Both medallions were cooked to my request and were fine.I called and spoke with Kaley later and she seemed unable to express an appropriate response to poor quality and portion size from my explanation, never offering for me to speak to a supervisor, never offering compensation, or simply an apology for the quality and experience I had at Gia Mia, St. Charles today.These skills are vital to employee ability to listen to the customer, empathize and take corrective, positive action to assure customer retention and a successful customer experience.I will visit Gia Mia again soon, as both employees were trying their best, lacking management oversight and training, to enable all employees to present the customer with an enjoyable dining experience.

The food here is awesome, the service here is usually great. Tonight though, our server carleigh was exceptionally horrible. It started out fine even though I could easily tell she had been drinking for what seemed like the entire night based on the fact that when she was looking at you, she was moreso looking through you. That, and the fact that she had to pause every few seconds to remember what she was just saying. All of that taken into account, my partner and I laughed it off.When I noticed both serving plates on the table were dirty, I politely let her know “hey, I understand this happens, but these plates are dirty. Do you mind if we replace them?” ……she then proceeded to pick up the plates and say “how are they dirty”Hahahaha okayAfter that she probably saw our table two last times, one being for the check.She then proceeded to have us waiting for 6-7 minutes for her to come BACK and grab the card from us —so her busser had come by and done it for her. When she finally came to grab the check, she literally non-verbally signaled for the card with her hands in the air and finally goes “the card?”Look- if you’re going to drink on the job, make sure you’re a functioning, kind drunk.Pasta was great.

10/10: Reception I had scheduled a reservation earlier that day. When we arrived, I gave my name to the receptionist, and we were promptly seated.2/10: TableWe were placed in a back connecting room with 3 other tables: 2 were families, one was a table of 8 teenage girls, and then there was our table of two adults. I felt separated from the rest of the restaurant, and the ambiance was lacking. I felt like an adult at the kiddie table during Thanksgiving. 4/10: Food. Food was okay. Prosciutto appetizer bread was soggy, cheese spread was too sweet. Calabrian chili pizza crust was soggy. Otherwise, unmemorable. Overall: Food was lacking, server was good, ambiance terrible. We will not come back.

During the holiday times the outdoor patio area is beautiful. Walking into this place is exciting, the layout is pretty nice too. The drinks here are amazing, they're all so different too! The pizzas never disappoint, you can't go wrong with any of them. They also have gluten free pizza which they can use the dough for any of the appetizers that come with bread. There are a lot of staff so the service is pretty quick and all the staff is friendly. I would recommend going to any Gia Mia location!
I have only been here for lunch. Their lunch menu is a great value. Staff is friendly and can help make recommendations.

Great service. Love the location in downtown St Charles, and there 4 season room. Crispy edged pizza with all my favorite toppings. Their BBQ chicken pizza calls my name everyday.Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free crust was well executed.
