Absolutely delicious food, great service, and beautiful views right on the fox river. The Mediterranean swai (a special) and salmon Cesar salad are both delicious! The salmon was done to perfection with lots of flavor! The view was so beautiful. The bread with oil, which comes with all the food was great too! The owner came around and asked us how our food was which was really nice! I will definitely be back. A gem in St. Charles.

Salerno’s On the Fox is definitely old-school Italian-American cuisine that I grew up with in the 1970s and 80s and beyond. Even though I am older and my tastes have changed along with the desire to eat “healthier” (lol), Salerno’s rings true to the 20th century Italian-American food experience famous in Chicagoland. If you like fried calamari, Salerno’s is perfectly cooked and they offer a massive portion for $17. A great value and massive portion! I prefer, these days, less breading and a little lighter breaded calamari . . . and maybe the customers who want that can request less breading; but with that said, this old-school fried calamari is right on point. It is served with marinara sauce and cocktail sauce. We had a thin crust, cheese and sausage pizza with hot giardinera on half of it.We both agreed the sausage was absolutely exceptional and fresh and for me it tasted like what I grew up with. I even made sausage when I was 16 years old and a local deli! These days I desire to eat lighter and prefer wood-fired Neapolitan pizza , but don’t get me wrong. If you want the traditional Italian-American Chicagolabd pizza, Salernos will deliver on point. It would be nice to possibly a candle on each table.

It was our first time there and we were celebrating a birthday. Out of 5 people, not one of us had a decent meal. The pasta was mushy, the fettuccini looked like a bowl of soup, the meatballs were like rubber. I spoke to Joe the owner and told him how disappointed we were and he walked away. I filed a complaint to get a refund with the better business bureau and Joe ignored that too. Joe is rude and does not care about his customers. All Joe cares about is taking your money. Also, I ordered what was on the menu and I was told I would have to pay double since they do not offer that anymore. Why is it on your menu!!!!!!!!!!!

The best pizza, pasta, and seafood. Try the traditional crust. You won't be disappointed. The toppings are generous. Make it even more decadent - get extra cheese.

Yeah, you might spend a bit more than at some national chain place, but Salerno's is the RealDeal. Fantastic Italian, - straight forward, fairly simple dishes done very well, and my (Italian Mother) would have loved this restaurant... many items seem like what she would have made.Huge portions so you can take home lunch tomorrow.Nice wine list we thought. My first time here, and we will definitely come back!Highly recommended for real, family ish Italian food.Parking: Just pull on, and look around!

I would not give any stars if the system allowed. I have been wanting to go to Salerno on the Fox in St Charles for the past two years. Finally went 3/3/24 and will never go back. Out of 5 of us, none of our meals were good. Pasta was extremely over cooked and mushy. Meatballs were like leather. The fettuccine was watery. Plus what we chose from the website menu is not even offered unless you pay double of what it is advertised at to get what it shows. I Do Not Recommend Going There. Oh, best yet- when I told the owner how disappointed we were, he just walked away!!!!!! VERY RUDE - IGNORANT You can clearly see the ravioli is advertised at $19, I was told it would be $28 if I wanted that!!!!!! FALSE ADVERTISEMENT

Great place. Old school as it gets and thats a compliment these days. They take care of you, fill you up with delicious food with larger portions. The pizza is expensive for sure, but it feeds like a stuffed pizza would- 2/3 pieces and you're stuffed. Great little cozy bar right out of the old Chicago classic Italian restaurants kind of vibe.

My husband and I have been getting stuffed artichokes for years from Salernos. It's like a treat. We love them and our kids got us a gift card for Christmas. To start to use the gift card in the app online we would have been charged a fee which we did not have to when we picked up. We picked up because the app would not take the gift card number so we called to order. The artichokes looked small much smaller than usual. Most of the leaves were not stuffed at all. No stuffing. Mine had no stuffing except it looked like what they did was take a scoop of stuffing and plop it on the top and not stuff. That's why the artichokes looked small. We are so disappointed. At 14.50 now for a stuffed artichoke we expect a stuffed artichoke. No butter sauce either. Salernos used to be the best and hate to start looking for a new place to get them. Again disappointed.
