Expensive but not what we expected. Miso was warm broth and nothing in it like tofu or seaweed. When we got there I was excited to see how the three chefs were going to the sushi and sashimi. I was hoping for something exotic. Well one plate came out and we were impressed by how well they were made. After that a no. The chefs left and every plate we got was the worst made rolls and not the best for the price. They all were falling apart and sloppy. It was pointed out that two Spanish ladies not in chef uniforms were making the rest of our orders. We could have gone to a rotating sushi restaurant or some type of Chinese buffet if that is the quality we wanted or maybe got better. We went here to spoil ourselves and felt ripped off on the experience. We were excited when we saw the website and felt like we got a bait switch after we ordered ?. I wanted to leave after that as who wants most of your rolls falling on the table, your lap, and the floor before you can get it in your mouth. Not very relaxing, fun, or romantic if you are celebrating or on a date like I think most people come here to do. So if you don't see three Asians behind that counter then don't order any Sushi, Nigiri, or Sashimi as it will be disappointing. If we didn't order so much we would have just done the many entries they had and enjoyed the atmosphere. Service was not that great either as nobody checked on us if we needed anything extra or refills. I also didn't like that it had sports events on as it cheapens the experience and distracting but I guess they need it for the rolls not being made by highly qualified chefs.

Top tier experience. It's more than just pictures, it's the real deal. It's better in real life.Walked in on a Tuesday, early hour with my date and we both have nothing but good things to say.The first impression was booming. It's a beautiful space. So beautifully decorated and thoughtfully put together.Kaylie our server and the bartender was great. Service was prompt and professional. Everyone had a smile and friendly attitude.The food was ?Lots of gluten-free options, which for me a huge plus. They have a whole gluten-free menu, that's nice to take out the guess work.Protip: Get the Seven Spicy Tuna of toasted rice or whatever it's technically called. (I'm close enough) lol. So good ???Great experience.10/10 recommend

Shakou was a very good experience overall.Friendly staff. Quick and easy seating for a Sunday evening dinner.The food was good. I had a few nigiri sushi, and i was a little let down. Yes, the fish was good. However, the flavor wasn't really their. Just seemed to be a little lacking. However, the fish was of the of highest quality.I also ordered a sushi roll ( pink panther ) and that was outstanding! Very flavorful and delicious.Food came out in a timely manner.The price was a little high though.

The absolute best vegetarian sushi!! The Midori Vegetarian roll is very good and the Shakou salad is big.

Honestly this is some of the worst sushi I’ve ever had. I think gas station sushi is a step up from this. And we paid $94 for 3 rolls and Edamame which was also flavorless. Only 1/3 people in our party had a good experience. The black tuxedo and ocean signature rolls were flavorless and I was forcing it down with much struggle. Praying I don’t get sick tonight.
