The food was amazing- fast, hot, and actually EDIBLE. Past times dining at other places we spent more money and had horrible food/service. This place restored my faith in eating out!!

The Southern is a new favoeite of me and my wife. We've bypassed it plenty of times over the years out of loyalty to other restaraunts. Still love those other places but this is easily in our top two in the area for breakfast.

Portions are large and carb heavy but thats what you get with southern style cooking. Everything has been delicious so far. Just plan to take home leftovers.

We stayed at nearby hotel, with free breakfast, but came here everyday instead. Loved the restaurant and staff and the food was great.
Menu is wide ranging and everything we had was fantastic. Servings are huge and we split meals because, otherwise, you would have to take leftovers which doesn’t work well in a hotel room.
Spouse is gluten free and they had lots of options and all were great.
On our next trip, regardless where we stay, we will be back here.

Can’t say enough good things about Southern Cafe! We take all our friends and family there. They happily customize the menu if need be, and have the most unique dishes. Their home made jams are amazing. Try the mimosa flights!

Highly highly overrated. I fell for the hype.

Cold hard biscuits. (Aptly named - Nasty)
Tough sausage. Didn't taste like pork.
Bland floury gravy. No pork taste.
Oversalty eggs from a box.
Hashbrowns swimming in nasty oil.
Not worth the icky feeling afterwards.

Great service everytime we go. Milkshakes and frappe's are amazing. Food is always made great with generous portions and brought out in a timely fashion. They also have amazing service and the biggest biscuits around

I don’t normally leave reviews unless something blows me away and unfortunately my experience here did not. In fact you could say it tied bricks to my ankles and threw me in the river. I came here once before and food and service was ok but today it’s was abysmal. We were seated by the brick wall and understandably it’s cold outside and it’s an exterior wall it might be a little chilly where we were seated but there’s no reason we should have to keep our winter jackets on inside to stay warm while eating. That being said the only thing colder than we were was the food we were served! I got the nasty skillet and toast and the only thing in it even slightly warm were the hash browns. The other person at my table got an omelette with grits and toast the omelette was luke warm and that might even be a stretch to say. Neither of our toast ,if you can even call it that, was toasted it looked like regular old bread that they made warm by setting it on top of an overheating computer. I kept my toast on the opposite side of the table from the wall hoping what little warmth it had would stay in tact as our waiter went to get the butter and jam for it. It did not as it took him 10 minutes after he said he was going to get it to make eye contact with us again before he remembered he in fact said he was going to do that. By the time it came the butter wouldn’t even melt it was just cold buttered bread. We told our waiter our concerns and he said sorry set the bill down and walked away. We went to pay and spoke to the manager who wouldn’t even look us in the eye as he mumbled he would “make it right”. I would hardly call the insulting $5 off he gave us making it right. Unless you enjoy wasting your money just to have to microwave your breakfast at home I’d find somewhere else to go.
