This is my first time in Illinois, and this is one of the best places I've ever tried. I would surely come back on our next vacation. ❤️

Not impressed; the food was very good, but pricey. But, the space is very loud, and the wait staff we had was a pip, with a huge attitude that hung out throughout our visit.

Server was pushy about ordering drinks . Wanted time to look at beverages and get new ones this time .We had a hard time getting the check & to go boxes had to get the hostess for that. Thought going early would be better service but guess not

Good food but the Algonquin location is better. I get the same thing almost every time and this time was just ok. Service was average nothing special.

TOO NOISY! The decor made it so very noisy that it made it so difficult to visit or even think.
Clean, very good service, good coffee, food good, hot, etc.... I just will avoid it because of the noise level/factor.

The food was good, but the service was slow and not very attentive. Maybe they were short staffed. The area that we were seated was pretty noisy so it was hard to have a conversation.

Everything was great. Service and food! It would be a 5 star rating except the loudness of this place stops me from ever eating a meal there again. You can't hear the person sitting next to you let alone the wait staff!! Awful. Left there with a headache from trying to hear.

Amazing! They accommodated my meal because I can’t have bread, and it was still just as good.

An Unforgettable Experience at Syrup!

If you’re looking for a dining experience that hits all the right notes, Syrup is the place to be! From the moment I stepped in with my parents, I was blown away by how immaculate and clean the entire facility was. The attention to detail in keeping everything spotless is seriously impressive, and the layout of the tables is perfect—well spaced out, offering a comfortable dining experience without feeling cramped.

The staff? Oh, they’re not just friendly, they’re downright delightful! We felt warmly welcomed and well taken care of from start to finish. And the food… let me just tell you, it was nothing short of amazing! I ordered the Over the Border Skillet, and let’s just say, the portion was absolutely huge and every bite was packed with flavor. As if that wasn’t enough, we shared some pancakes drizzled with white chocolate sauce. I mean, wow. Those pancakes were heavenly—perfectly fluffy and decadently rich with that creamy white chocolate drizzle. Honestly, it’s worth going back just for that!

Prices are more than reasonable considering the quality and portion sizes, making it feel like a great value on top of everything else. If I had to nitpick one thing, it’s that the place could use a little help with noise absorption or perhaps some white noise to dampen the chatter, but even that didn’t take away from how wonderful our time was.

Bottom line: Syrup is a solid 10 out of 10. Totally worth the wait, and we’ll definitely be back!

This syrup location was a disappointment. The syrup (maple) was watered down and poured out like water... the coconut syrup they gave was separated in the bottle. Even after shaking, it was not fully incorporated and it was also runny and watered down. And the raspberry mascarpone pancakes tasted kindof wierd (like it was filled with fake ingredients) and had barely any mascarpone filling. I paid extra for a side of fruit instead of potatoes and got tiny pieces of cantelope (like the size of a skittle), 1 strawberry, 1 blackberry and a few tiny pieces of honeydew. The melons were hard and unripe... probably why they were cut into tiny pieces. The omelete was supposed to have cheese in it, but there was also little, I couldn't even tell there was cheese. I've been to the algonquin Syrup many times and recommend it much more than this location, everything is top notch there. I felt like this location was trying to cut corners on everything. Service was mediocre.

Not a fan of the boring menu and the fact that they want the river to stay gross and blocked up is added insult to injury to how generic the food is.
