I originally gave this location 3 stars, but since they have deleted my very fair Google review, I thought I would try on here. Nice enough yet inattentive staff, and marginal tasting food. Drinks were never topped off, ice tea wasn’t even brought out, etc. The waitress asked us why we didn’t tell her about the missing tea. We can’t tell her if she doesn’t come to check in on us. I ordered sourdough bread on my sandwich. It was so sort of white bread that has a mass produced taste, but it certainly wasn’t sourdough. I initially ordered the quiche and they ran out so my friend and I had to decide which one of us would try something else. I’ve been here many times, but something seems missing these days. Would never return nor recommend.

Cute little café with a book store. Food was good. I liked the asparagus quiche. Server was very pleasant. The almond raspberry cake was good. You can get lite or heavy food. You can get drinks and food to go.

Parking: Small lot across the street.

Wasn't impressed with the food. However, only plus was that they used turkey meat and not pressed lunch meat. Did takeout so couldn't rate staff or atmosphere.

The staff are wonderful. They truly love what they do. You have to save room for Olive Oil cake. It is amazing.

Supporting independent booksellers should be the job of all of us. Fortunately, the tactile pleasure of books over digital formats has returned and this spot seems to be thriving. The adjacent cafe is small but cozy. Nothing fancy here with soup of the day, salads and sandwiches but if you pull out a book to read while dining, no one looks at you twice. Weather permitting, there is a pleasant patio, and you are steps from the main street of town and the Fox River.

A long-time favorite. Wonderful homemade soups and desserts, lovely selection of teas, and a top-notch independent book store to browse while you wait for your table or after you eat.

Cute little cafe. Small place, so small menu, but it has everything you need. They have an option for vegans too. Homemade soup and sandwiches. Great for a quick lunch.

What a wonderful experience! A charming cafe to have a wonderful lunch. A must visit restaurant! They open at 11 am…I would suggest arriving close to opening for a short wait time for a table.

Small, intimate place attached to a bookstore, and slightly off the beaten path of Downtown St. Charles. Maybe a dozen tables, at most. Therefore, expect to wait, especially during peak times.... But, it's definitely worth the wait. Very cozy and great tasting food at a reasonable price. The entire staff was friendly and attentive. And the bathrooms were spotless. Definitely recommend the Town House Cafe.
