The Hitching Post accommodated my nephews large wedding and reception over the weekend.
The owners had done an amazing job setting the venue up for us. Communication was great and always made themselves available in a timely manner. They are really nice and friendly.
I really enjoyed the entire experience.
I also rented cabin #4. These cabins reminded me of the movie Dirty Dancing. The cabin is clean and very well stocked with everything you may need to start you off. I was impressed with the thoughtfulness of a guests stay.

Good appetizers. Good wines. Pizza needs to have sause in it. ...no taste.
Came here on our drive home from st louis to Chicago and it was incredible! Had a few glasses of Eleventh hour, blueberry and rose and ended up buying a bottle of blueberry and eleventh hour. We also got the turkey panini and Italian beef and they were 10/10. Such a great vibe and highly recommend if you're passing through the area!

We found our hidden gem! Loved everything about our stay. The cabin, the wine, the winery, the beauty and much more. The owners were fabulous and have created a little slice of heaven. We will be back!

My wife took me on a great weekend Shale Lake Winery! We stayed in the boathouse. I loved everything about it. We wanted to relax, and we relaxed. The Winery itself was just up the hill. Wine was good. Food was good. Friendly cat walking around. The owners were super nice, attentive to any needs, and we can't wait to go back!
