“The most delicious bacon for 40mile radius at least. This is a find for us and a jewel for the local community. My wife had the pancakes (also with bacon, because everything has to have meat in on or on the side of it)...and i had the breakfast (that they serve all day - 2 eggs with bacon, toast and hash browns). perfectly done hash browns, eggs cooked over medium and then i tried the bacon and the grey wet day outside, clouds opened up, choirs sang and i was having an existential experience. Totally awesome. We left content, with happy tummies and didn't even care that it was raining outside. The lovely hostess was super attentive, and engaging and the place is spotless. if anyone is lucky enough to be stopping off in Effingham then take the time to drive a few more miles for a treat and support these gems. More of these places please...well done Emma's Diner!!“

“We love eating here. The one in mattoon closed a while back, so my family and I enjoy coming here. We love the red white and blue pancakes, especially anything breakfast! Love that it is open whenever, hardly anywhere is open 24-7. Our server tonight was new and she was overwhelmed, she did great though and it made us happy seeing her coworkers pep talking her instead of belittling her. 🥰
there were some really rude people at a table near us griping about their food...if someone is new and learning give them some time to learn! she handled herself really well. I dont want to say her name on here but she did great!
